We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Studio School. The leadership is the best of any schools we have ever seen. Talk about caring, engaging, enthusiastic staff. The principal is a force to reckon with. We love EVERYTHING about this wonderful little school. The community of parents is also amazing and supportive. I can't say enough about how we recommend this school.

I was told this was a place where kids could be kids, that was not the case. Six year olds losing recess days in advance and constantly for things like talking, teacher yelling, lots of computer time, any concerns brought were dismissed, very shaming behavior chart that brought a lot of anxiety only one art class after weeks of school even though it is an arts based school, school was not being learned through art, videos for science etc. So glad we pulled my child she became herself again.

Struck the lottery with this school. It is difficult to find a good school in this area. Such a relief. We've been through three schools already, this is by far the best one.

The Studio School has been an amazing fit for our son. The unique opportunity these kids have to learn through arts integration is phenomenal. They are encouraged to push past their perceived limits and exceed in ways they never imagined. Our son, now in 4th grade, will leave as a confident, intelligent young man ready to tackle whatever comes his way. The teachers and staff are like family to him and support him in ways I never imagined. When we left a small coop preschool and entered public school we were not sure what to expect but have found that he continues to thrive with all the love and support we could possibly wish for.

This is our second year at The Studio School and we love it. The arts integration is a huge benefit. My daughter loves school and learns so much more because of the integrated approach.

We are in our second year at The Studio School. I chose Studio for my family because I believe education should be integrated. We were immediately impressed by the richness of the Art program and my child fell in love with theater and music. The community is very close and vibrant, and many of the enrichment programs depend on and are made better because of parent involvement. Academically we are pleased as well, and feel that our child is on par with expectations for reading and math, and he seems to be ahead of his friends from other schools especially with regard to reading. There are so many after school clubs and activities that we are almost overwhelmed by the options. And while it is not part of the official school curriculum, I think it's worth noting that the BASE program has been phenomenal as well.

My family has been at this school for 5 years, with one child currently in 4th and one in 2nd grade. The classroom teachers are caring and competent, the principal is amazing, and the specials teachers bring out the best in our kids. My husband and I come from technical fields, and we believe that arts integration helps kids to learn math, science, literacy, and social studies more deeply and remember it well as they connect with the content. The school provides many opportunities for kids to be on stage, which we believe to be a valuable self-esteem building experience that will prepare kids for any career. The school population is more diverse than our neighborhood, and we love the exposure that gives our kids to differences. We would recommend this school to any friend.

I absolutely love this school. I have two children in the school and they both love going to school every day. The Studio School offers a variety of activities for the kids to be involved in ranging from soccer to strings. All of the staff are friendly and I feel my children are safe and in good hands while spending a large part of their day away from home. This school is a great community to be a part of.I read some of the negative reviews below and I would like to say that we have not had those experiences. We have been given scholarships for my kids to be in the extra curricular activities and have always been able to get into the sessions as long as we handed the permission slips in right away.As for getting help for my child...We have had a lot of support from the teachers, principal, and social worker at the school. I have always felt like they are there to listen and are truly there for my child when there is a struggle. I know not everyone has the same experiences, but I wanted to make sure it was noted that we are a family that has had positive experiences in this area.

The Studio School has been a wonderful place for my children to learn and grow. The opportunity to perform has built great confidence in my children. I also appreciate their attention and flexibility around the different learning styles. My daughter was at The Studio School from K-5 and absolutely loved her school and was excited to go everyday! My son went to another school last year that was a much more didactic classroom and it was a disaster! He is so much happier and more excited for school this year at The Studio School.

This is an AMAZING school. My son is in 5th grade this year and has been at the Studio School since kindergarten. The teachers and staff are wonderful. I don't believe there is another elementary school in the state that offers such a well-rounded education. My son has been a member of the African Drumming Troupe and excels in his visual arts class. The regular reading, writing, math, science, and social studies classes are enhanced by adding art, music, performing arts, and dance to the curriculum. Couldn't have dreamed up a better school!

This is not an equal opportunity school. I believe that children in elementary school should have the opportunity to join whatever school activities that they want to try, orchestra, choir, plays, etc.. This school does not allow this. They pick their favorites and those are the only children allowed to sign up. The after school clubs are so expensive that most students can't afford to participate. They rarely go on field trips. It's the only school I know of that doesn't have field day at the end of the year. I have seen the teachers (mainly the performing arts and music teacher) fight in front of the children over "creative differences". I truly regret sending my student here and would never recommend this school to anyone.

My daughter was fortunate enough to get selected to attend 5th grade through Choice and what a difference but has made for her and our family. She is inclined to the arts and while she has done well in a traditional school, we love it here. I am so sad that she won't be attending anymore. I love that the school reignited her passion for the arts and it's a smaller school which is great. I just wish there were more options for the arts in middle school, sad to leave.

My child is attending here, There are a few things I do not like, I didn't like that they didn't have a Kindergarten continuation, they dont have a field day, they don't have a choir concert, they just do Play's after play's after plays, and if your child shows the least bit of interest, I fell like the music and dance teacher ostracizes them, my child likes it there but im not seeing a great bond between the teachers, and the teacher she has now doesn't know how to intervene with my child in the class room, she is asking me for ideas. Im getting less impressed with the school.

My son has attended The Studio School since kindergarten and is now in the 5th grade. We will be so sad to leave this school next year. The community here is the greatest. My son has received an excellent education that will allow him to continue to excel wherever he goes for middle school. The staff here is the best and we are thankful to have had the opportunity for our son to go here.

After being at the Studio schools for years I am at the breaking point and thrilled that we won't be returning next year. Don't expect help for your child unless they are at least 2 YEARS behind their grade level. We have been through some serious situations in this school that were handled so poorly I still can't believe it. The end of the year can't come soon enough. I truly worry about my children switching to a regular school and being really far behind due to the focus on the arts. We love the arts, but there needs to be balance. The school scores have dropped tremendously while we have been here. The staff is nice, but trying to get help for your child is ridiculous and a battle you will lose, the system is setting them up for failure.

This is our first year at the Studio School and we love it! It has such a strong community feel to it and you always feel welcome. My daughter has fun while learning and that is important to us that she is supported in being a life-long learner. The teachers are friendly and happy to be teaching here. Learning through the arts offers the children another way of expressing themselves while learning the academics of their grade level and that is what we have noticed with our child, that she can still do what she loves (art and music) while learning. The school relies on parent involvement and you want to participate as much as you can.

The Studio School offers a wonderful arts integrated education! I can not praise them enough for all of the effort that they take to ensure that all of the children become engaged, involved, and accelerate in all subjects. For parents who have children who can benefit from a "hands-on" approach to education or have children who think three dimensionally then this is the school for them. Kudos! Keep up the great work!

We love the Studio School! We have a Kindergartener and 1st grader and the academic programs are impressive to us. We love all the opportunitues for arts integration, and watching our young kids perform several times a year. The staff is very creative and the kids love going to school there!

My child attended Studio School its first year. What I liked about it was that all children of all socio-economic backgrounds were treated equally and with respect. What the kids wore wasn't important and bullying is nipped in the bud immediately. Kids have a creative freedom here and there are some really nice, down to earth kids and parents at this school. There isn't PE at this school, instead it is dance and performing arts. The fine arts program is amazing. This school is not a good fit if your child likes to be "the star". The performances are magical but it's a community effort, no one person is "better" than the rest. They tend to cater more to boys since they are the minority. Very few parents volunteered when my child attended and some parents really lacked manners. If your child is gifted and needs acceleration, this is NOT the right school. My child had to repeat an entire year of math because they could not accomodate her. This school will add a grade every year until it is K-8, so although it says K-5 now, next year there will be a 6th and so on. Parking and speeding in the school zone were a terrible problem daily. The BASE program was a little too military.

Such a great school! They nurture every student's creativity and make it fun to learn.
