Honestly I've had so many issues in this school for the last 2 years they won't consider bullying as bullying unless it's a classic form of bullying The staff members, outside of the teachers, like to harass the parents of poor standings but will let the higher standing parents do whatever they want Park wherever they want however long they want as long as you show up in a Mercedes-Benz or nicer they'll treat you with respect

My kids moved to Leroy Drive Elementary School 2 years ago from a Jeffco elementary that is rated 10/10. Leroy Drive Elementary has been excellent and far better than the other school. My daughter has an IEP and an ALP and she is thriving in the smaller classes with personalized attention. The Teachers are wonderful! Very strong community feel. Couldn't be happier. There is an awesome principle this year and I feel like there is lots of district support and leadership. I hope the current principle stays, happy so far.

We had one of the worst experiences a parent could go through at this school. To the point where we took our daughter out of this school. This review took me a long time to do, because we’ve never been the type of family to leave negative reviews. However, under these circumstances we believe every parent that has kids with disabilities should know. About 2 years ago our daughter that was 5 years old at the time was attending this school, we had a parent teacher meeting before school started so they could understand that our daughter with Down syndrome didn’t know how to go the bathroom on her own and needed assistance with school work. The teacher and the PRINCIPAL of this school said they were very experienced and had all the right training and curriculums for her to attend this school. So we felt very comfortable taking he here after that meeting. On the FIRST day of school, we had a call around 1 PM that our daughter was behaving very badly and that she had made a mess of poop all over the nurses room and demanded that we pick her up knowing that we were at work. Upon arriving around 2PM, she was left alone in a room with no poop anywhere to be found except in her diaper which by the way was left on dirty for about 4 hours long. She was calm and not even crying. The nurse said that she was untrained to handle her needs and that she wasn’t a good child. The principal didn’t apologize nor talk to us upon entering. No ONE said anything, when I asked what happened no one knew the whole story and we’re even caught in lies between one another. Our daughter at the time didnt speak only sign language, so she was unable to tell us what happened and up to today we don’t know how she was treated by the staff. She was left with a rash because of the dirty diaper, left alone in a room for only god know how long, no explanations were ever given, we had the nurse tell us that she was a bad child, and worst of all the principal “UNDERSTOOD” what we were going through because she had a family member with Down syndrome. If you have a child with special needs attending this school please make sure you question there training and curriculums. Or for any parent to at least know how that situation was handled.

Very good. We wanted to try another private school because we’re truly disappointed with the Public School system as a whole. Our daughter had gone to Leroy and had an amazing experience and we were scared that it wouldn’t last. However that was not the case... yet.We just couldn’t find peace about moving her to another school. At the end of the day she was loved, cared for, encouraged and taught how to think (not what to think) for herself every day. She has friends of all lifestyles, colors and education levels. They all love each other. The teachers seem to genuinely care for the kids and firm relationships with them.We love Leroy.

This website has not updated the fact that Leroy Drive test results actually skyrocketed last year. This school is taking a step in the right direction thanks to the staffs dedication and a new principal who is dedicated to seeing growth, whilst still providing a nurturing environment. My son is in second grade and loves going to school each day, he is advanced in both reading and math, and enjoys all the extra opportunity leroy provides for growth.

For the Parents that have stated there kids went to school here for years and they could not read don't be so quick to blame teachers. You as a parent should be involved and if this was an issue early on then you sit with them at home and help them learn and get involved with the teacher to figure out what the core issue is. This issue never should have gotten past the first year. My daught has gone to both charter and public schiools here and in Texas. Texas schools were way behind and at Leroy she has a better understanding of Math and Reading and is learning quickly. She is involved with after school activities and is becoming not only educated but socially motivated to be involved. If your kid can't read by middle school there are more issues then just the teachers.

My son went to Leroy for 5 years. He still couldn't read when starting middle school. Thank God for good teachers at Northglenn Middle School who taught him to read finally in 7th grade. This school is horrible. Do what is best for your child and send them somewhere else. They blame the students for the teachers poor performance. School is below average for the state. So are the teachers. If your child just needs to be watched all day this is the place. If your child needs and education, send them to a different school.

Pulled my daughter out of this school after 2nd grade. She still couldn't read and the school just blamed the student. They refused to hold her back and repeat 2nd grade. I stuck her in a private school till 6th grade. Put her back in public school through middle school and high school were she was and still is a honor student with straight A's. She has had nothing but A's since leaving this school. Now she is in all advance college prep classes in high school. This just proves to me that Leroy Drive Elementary School is just a bad school with bad teachers. Publicly funded babysitting. I had nothing but trouble with the teachers, principal and the school nurse. I would never send any child to this school.

If there was any other school my children could go to I would move them faster then you could think it! I have had several problems with one staff member, and the principal allows her to act and treat people and student like crap with out any repercussions. My child was always in an advanced class and since being relocated to Leroy Drive Elementary he has regressed..I feel this school is holding my children back. I also have a child that is an underachiever and they lack whatever it is they need to help her with her learning needs.. I think the way this school is ran is very inappropriate and if I had the power I would put a stop to it!!!! # MAD MOMMY!
