The school has many burned out teachers, stale lessons, and zero ideas of how to make the school have equal opportunities as all other public elementary schools get an Adams 12 school district. The school does fundraisers throughout the year but will not ask parents for field trip money because it’s always the same excuse, they’re too poor, and do not have the money for field trips or extra curricular opportunities. The teacher rarely give consistent communication, to be honest I have no clue the content my child has learned this year in fourth grade???? Tests are never sent home graded for math or English/writing, the only time you get an update is at parent teacher conferences. If your focus is a good education for your child and for them to be well prepared for secondary school, this is definitely not the elementary school to keep your child in! The majority of these children are going to choke in junior high school and by the time high school comes, it will be even worse for them.

Kindergarten was great, but this past year for 1st grade is very mediocre at best. Kids operating at an average level or above are left and pushed off to the side because they don't feel they have to work with them as much as the other kids. These kids could be boosting their scores by teaching them the next grade levels stuff when they're bored with the level they are at. The school really misses the mark on that aspect. Hopefully the new principal coming in for the 2019 / 2020 school year will focus more on kids at level or above.

Amazing and one of the best we have ever had our ADHD/ Sensory child in. Amazingly caring staff that is like a big family. We were blessed to have our child there. We had to move away but we highly recommend Westview for the people and the procedures they have in place for children. This is a positive school full of staff who love children and their jobs!

My daughter loves going to school at Westview. Her preschool teachers are awesome.

The teachers at this school are amazing, and the support staff is fantastic! We have had so many positive experiences here. The testing scores do not adequately reflect this school at all. Standardized tests are ridiculous, if you want your child to learn, and have the support they need then I highly recommend Westview.

This school does not stand alone. They are extremely involved in community projects and getting the community to be involved in the school. This school has a very caring staff that is very involved. They run a lot of after school programs for students and are very friendly.

I enrolled my child to this school. The school is diverse. The teachers and admin staff are incredible and caring. My child thrived there. I have nothing negative or bad, only good to say about this school.

I had 2 children that go to Westview, I honestly believe that it is an incredible school. I don't believe that the CSAP scores truly rate a school, I am shocked at how many parents make a decision based on 1 score instead of looking at the school as a whole. Every person in the school from the administration to the teachers are wonderful. I can t think of anything they could improve on. I feel really blessed that we moved into the area when are kids were little, I can t imagine them going to another school. There is also great communication from the principal and teachers. The only thing I would change somewhat is in the after school program. The Director that was there last few years made the program feel like family to my kids. She was so kind, caring, fun and I think really loved my kids, they never wanted to leave. Although the program is still good and the staff are great I just feel that the heart was taken out of the program. It feels like a business now instead of a family.
