This school is HORRIBLE. They had a child almost abducted outside the school last year and then this yr had a 7 year old outside for an hr. They do not grade fair. They lower the students grades and then raise them at the end of the year for addition funding. They are completely about the union. school has major known bullying issues as well. Don't make the mistake I did changing my GT student to this school.

My daughter experienced racism and bullying at this school. She was constantly picked on by certain kids and the school did very little about it. She constantly talked to her school counselor about it and barely anything was done. Thankfully, she is a strong student despite this and made some good friends. However, after 2 years at this school she has had enough and will be attending the last year of middle at another school.

Our time with Stem Launch has been incredible. My son has had counseling needs managing some social immaturity and then dealing with COVID. The school has been patient and supportive. The teachers have been attentive and creative in managing to teach prior to during COVID, keeping students engaged and challenged with learning. My son had previously been considered as a possible ADHD person and a difficult student in class with little desire to learn. Within weeks of attending Stem Launch, his teacher and the paraprofessionals had identified ways to capture my son's attention and engage him in ways to successfully complete assignments. Their proactive and individual efforts for my student took him from a problem student to a star student in less than a year and is no longer considered as having ADHD.

The teachers and all the staff are kind and caring. And especially in the pandemic have really gone above and beyond to help the students and families. The problem based learning model helps students learn to work together, think critically and come up with solutions. Even kindergartners do this work. The family liaison is a stellar part of the staff. Daily helping families solve problems and find resources. The school not only values academics, but helping lift up members of the community as well.
