I have been a parent at this school for the past 8 years. I think Crown Pointe does an excellent job of building character in the students and helping students be the best they can. There are great supports for students with special needs. The teachers are very caring and supportive of their students. Communication with the school is amazing, and the board is ran by parents. There could be more differentiation for students in Middle School and I would like for there to be an anti-bullying program, but otherwise I love this school.

Just wanted to share my opinions on how disgusting it that you choose to keep the kids in masks. Let kids be kids. It's proven to be not only unhygienic, but also wreak havoc on mental health. While the other schools have lifted this absolutely absurd mandate, you guys are on some weird mask power trip or something. This is doing way more harm than good and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves

I have worked in the front office at Crown Pointe Academy for 12 years. It is a wonderful place to spend my days. The staff is compassionate, caring, and very professional. The students are sweet and polite when they come to the front office.I highly recommend Crown Pointe Academy. In fact, our son and daughter-in-law added their children to the waitlist as soon as they were born!Leslie Fiorini

We had a recent incident where our daughter was bullied in the classroom and then punched in the face by another student. The teacher told my daughter, the principal, and us that she was lying. She did not see what actually happened, by her own admission. Previously when our daughter said he was calling her names they told her not to “tattle.” When she was punched in the face, they took her to the bathroom to check for a “mark.” Then they went about the day as usual. They did not call us, they did not take her to the nurse, they apparently did not notify administration or the principal, and now they have refused to meet with us about the incident twice. I have photos of my daughter’s bruised and swollen face. We now have a meeting scheduled when they are available, which will be almost two weeks after the incident. Since we don’t feel our daughter is safe in the classroom with this boy, I am home schooling her while I work. I have asked for her work, and it is never sent until the end of the day, so she is falling behind. I have asked via email that my daughter be transferred to the other class for her grade so her education can continue, but have gotten no response, so she continues to be punished for the act of another student. Both of my daughters have attended this school for four years, and I am appalled at the treatment of my daughter. I am following their grievance policy, and have notified the board. I am also notifying the Colorado Charter School Institute, and feel parents should know that this is how bullying is handled at this school. Their medical, bullying, communication with parents, discipline policies, and the student handbook all go against their actions toward my daughter and the student who punched her in the face. I want other parents to know that this happened at the school.

Out of a 1-10 I would rate a 2 and those stars are for the wonderful first grade teachers that took the time.

Poor. Crown point left the Westminster school district and has no more oversight. Many of their practices would not be allowed if they had to answer to the district. Save yourself some misery and pick a different school.

CPA has been a blessing in our lives. My daughter has a chronic health issue that makes her educational experience a little more challenging for her and the school to manage. Not only do they work really hard to accommodate and understand my kiddo's challenges, their care and concern for her is evident in how nearly every member of the CPA team interacts with her and our family. They provide us so much peace of mind. The educational environment is rigorous and provides her enough balance to still be a kid while keeping her interested in the learning process. I can't say enough good things about CPA.

My oldest has now been at this school for nine school years. It's definitely served him well - he's leaving middle school with an amazing grasp of Spanish and will hopefully be attending a college preparatory program at a nearby JeffCo school as a result of his advanced learning at this school.In the past two years the school has done its best to work towards accommodating GT students better. This, unfortunately, came too late for one of my kids and I was advised to place him elsewhere, but I am hopeful for future high needs kids given what I have seen. The teachers and staff are involved, attentive, kind, and caring. I agree that the changes have been positive since Mr. Ouenweel came on board. I hope to see more positive changes for children on both ends of the spectrum at Crown Pointe. Overall, I must say that my son has thrived here and I feel that this school has given him the best possible academic head start for whatever his future endeavors hold for him, and when my youngest enters kindergarten, she too will be attending Crown Pointe. If I have one lingering concern it's that while there are a number of teachers who have been at the school for a very long time, there does seem to be an unusually high rate of teacher turnover here.

Before reading other reviews consider who's interest they serve. Also consider how varied students, families and communities can be. This school is a shining star for the area and demographics they serve. Recently they departed from Adams 50 due to their hands being tied up by by the district. Additionally they have made huge changes internally with their new director. Crown Pointe is great at serving the interest of all students needs and helping the student develop in areas where they may struggle. My students have attended for the last six years and I have seen this school only get better over the years. They are actively engaged in school and are always learning things that they want to replicate at home. One of my students loves being part of the br fore school choir and my other student receives additional challenges with the after school gifted and talented group. Compared to the Adams 50 schools where my older children went this school is leaps and bounds better at educating children.

If you look at quality of schools, look at the number of staff members leaving or being force out at this school.

This school is amazing. My son is in Kindergarten and my other son is on the list and should get in this next year. I love that they are very academically advanced and they expect the best from their students. Also, the principle is THE BEST. He is very visable and cares so much about the students, staff, and parents. I appriciate that!

Great program, but not for students who require extra accommodations because of being advanced beyond the curriculum. Still one of the better options in Adams 50, but agree with reviewers below who state that their efforts to accommodate high potential learners are almost non-existent. Still, gave both of my kids a great start and still have one enrolled.

I have been a part of this school for the past three years. It has been through some changes between the new building and a new director but I cannot begin to say how much my children have thrived here. There are ample opportunities to be involved - in fact it is expected of all parents. I wanted this for my children because I know having the ability to be involved with my children's education through PTA and numerous committees I am taking a more active role with my children. My children have had high expectations placed on them and have risen to it every time. The teachers have an amazing way of making me feel my children are special and they truly understand them. The assistants are right there as well. I am so grateful for the opportunities this school has provided and look forward to seeing additional improvements in the years to come.

The new director is phenomenal! We are loving every aspect of this school so far with our oldest daughter. We very much look forward to our youngest starting in just a few years. Fantastic teachers! Fantastic subjects and specials...overall an incredible school!

2 years after moving from this school to another charter school; I can say the move was the best choice for my family. Although the academics are high at this school, they are just as high at other charter core knowledge schools but administered with more consideration for the whole child. Also, my high performing students are receiving better accommodations than CPA ever offered. When asked for help at CPA to keep my students from being bored I was told that the curriculum was challenging enough and had to argue over every little accommodation I asked for. Some were as small as asking to not make my child read level 2 books when she could read at a 5th grade level. No, I was told...they will run out of things to read...What a joke! It is so nice to be treated with dignity instead of like a pest. My students are thriving elsewhere and being given the extra challenges they need. At the new school my children are treated like human beings and so am I! The leadership is much more professional and teachers are expected to act appropriately and respectful towards the parents. Something not so true at CPA.

The teachers are a B and some are an A, really supportive and concerned with all students. The Principal is very controlling, more supportive of her staff, high achievers vs children with learning disabilities, and has a hard job making everyone happy. Your child will learn more here than other surrounding schools; but if you have a child who struggles with the 3 cores, Math, Reading, Language you should not put the pressure and homework that this school gives and go elsewhere. They want to keep their high scores and the scores are great for teachers resumes. Lots of after school help w/ assingments, programs, child care, and clubs. Middle School organizational skills are taught. Spanish is not extensive, just preperation unless you have highly intelligent child. Overall parent involvement is average, a litte more than most, it is the same parents doing activities and board work.

Great classes, but POOR leadership. Some obvious favoritism. My children are doing well, but don't understand how rules apply to some children but everyone. Very frustrating to witness it. When it's mentioned, you risk having your own child singled out, so many stay quiet about things they see are wrong at the school. I hear that happens everywhere though. It isn't perfect, but it could sure be a lot better. Some volunteers are welcomed especially when the principal likes them, but others are treated as unwelcome pests. I guess I expected more from a small school.

The principal leadership and teacher quality is fantastic. Although, there is high parent involvement, it seems to be the same group of parents, and a majority, but not all parents. All parents need to be more involved to prevent biases occuring with school/parent decisions.
