This school is amazing. They have changed the life of my son and our family. The teachers and staff are always there for the students. They work so well with every student. The communication is amazing and the staff not only supports my son but they are always available for me also. There is always some activity going on. They strive to make programs and sports available for all levels and interests. They are building the special Olympics program as well as social clubs. I couldn’t ask for a better school for my child.

I went to cove from 4th to mid 7th grade.I was always a higher student compared to the other kids but still had a learning disability. I was not as smart as the kids that go to my public school in highland park Illinois. I had to work my way up as all my teachers and parents doubted me. Cove helped a lot I was able to accomplish goals and then I moved to my public school as a survey student then moved to regular classes and ended senior year of high school in a few honors classes. Thanks to Cove I have recently committed to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. If you want your kids to grow you have to have patience but I would highly recommend cove they will help with success whether they go to college or not.Eli Resnick

Once our daughter entered highschool the teachers ignored her and she refused to go back because how the teachers were treating her. We pulled her out and she is successful and happy at her home school. It was sad that they did not care to help her. Also the quality of the education in highschool was poor. She was not challenged.

Cove School has been a lifeline for my daughter with unique and complex LD She began as a Freshman after years of failing in a mainstream school. The Staff @ Cove looks beyond each child's deficits and see's only possibilities. They challenge every student and welcome them with compassion and understanding. They believe every child can learn given the proper supports tailored to their individual needs. I would recommend Cove to any parent who has a child that struggles with LD and has been unable to make gains in their present educational setting. There aren't enough words to describe the gratitude felt for the entire Cove Staff and the donors that support their mission. It truly is a place where "miracles happen everyday". Come visit this extraordinary school and witness first hand what they can offer your child and how they can best prepare and assist them for life beyond Cove.

This school is a solid C. Their only focus is LD kids and their programs to help them are very basic. Nothing groundbreaking or above average. Utilization of tech, communication with parents, homework, teaching of executive functioning, self determination skill building in kids themselves, usage of assessment, and social emotional learning is critical to LD kids and surprisingly weak or non-existent here. For some odd reason the culture overall is not understanding to the differences/needs of these kids. Would only recommend if your district school is that bad or if your child can only function in a small, slower paced, completely adapted environment. That is their main benefit and if that is your child's need, it may be right for you. I agree with the other reviewer that they do not challenge the kids or consider re-integration to home schools as a goal. Since the kids are being taken away from typical peers by being here and lots of money is being spent by parents or districts, they really should be cutting edge and doing more.

I was a past student at this school. I loved it my first year, but it slowly changed. Teachers started to have all different kinds of affairs with each other. It caused a lot of drama. And Some of the teachers bullied students. There were some great teachers.. but overall my experience was poor. I did much better at a different school. Now as a mother of two children, I would never send them there.. just from my bad experiences at that school. Saying that, It may have changed since then.. although I do know some of the same staff does still work there... My parents say sending me to Cove is one of their biggest regrets. It doesn't deserve any stars IMO.

I would Highly consider other schools and not consider this school my reasons are as follows , my child learned nothing as far as academics. My child was Never challenged at all at this school, as a matter of fact year after year my child fell further and further behind his/her peers it was a really bad experience sending my child to this school . Each year everything in academics was the same year after year this school Rarley sent home any homework . Please consider all options for your child to learn and others school as this one school was a bad experience for my child , My child is very bright and was once again never challenged to get ahead or even caught up to his/her peers , this school only set my child further and further behind . This school needs to focus on the child needs and work on improving academics . Overall I give this school no stars if I could . If you wanted yoru child to get caught up or mainstream Please , Please , Please consider other schools .

Would not send my child back. Consider other schools that offer the same academic services.

Not only does my daughter LOVE Cove, but so do my husband and I!!! It is a blessing to have my child attend a school where the administrators, teachers, and other kids all 'get it'! Everyone is supportive of one another. The positive energy within the school is extremely contagious! My child is happy, understood, and LEARNING!!!!
