My family moved to New Haven over the Summer of 2023. We have two children and one of them attends New Haven Elementary. Prior to the move, our children attended school in the Lanse Creuse school district. The elementary school is located in a well maintained subdivision. The school in my opinion is large for an elementary school. It is extremely clean inside and we'll maintained on the outside. All of the staff that we have met, have been extremely helpful. I love that the staff takes the time to get to know the students and communicates with parents. The only issue I have is that they are short - staffed with bus drivers. If your bus driver is sick, you will receive a text from the school informing you that you will need to drop/pick-up your student.I personally love our bus driver. She takes the time to personally text the parents of the students on her route, the night before if she is sick. This way we are not waiting at the bus stop or trying to scramble the day of to get our students to school.

We have been at NHE for 2 full school years. I was hesitant because of past reviews about New Haven schools. But we have had such an amazing experience so far! The principal is outstanding. He does so much for the students and is always on top of handling any issue that comes up. The teachers we have had so far have been great! All 3 of my children are reading above grade level, 2 of them tested above grade level on the state tests, the other is at grade level! I have nothing bad to say and I feel like the reputation New Haven had should be in the past because they have really turned things around.

My student just moved into this school in the 1st grade from Lanse Creuse. We are SO MUCH HAPPIER here. She is so excited to be here, she asked if she can go here for 2nd grade too! As a military family we have moved a lot, so my kids dont always assume we will be here long term. As a parent of 4 kids , 1 who has graduated already, we have used a lot of schools. I think New Haven schools may be my absolute favorite. As for NHE, it is tucked away in a very safe neighborhood. It has 2 very large playgrounds, and all the facilities are kept up very well. They have a large library, parent volunteers, and the principal even lives in the village! That never happens. The teachers really care and know the students. They hired a teacher mid year for the 1st grade, because enrollment just kept going up and up! Word has gotten out what a hidden gem New Haven is. It is growing, improving, but still small feel and very safe. You phone call is always returned. Youre welcome to come in and volunteer, or work here! Teachers use the latest apps and technologies. They offer tech, chrome books and ipads, art, music and performances, and gym. Multiple lunch choices, it is truly a big family here!

My son has loved all his teachers and enjoys school. He has grown emotionally and academically. The teachers are fabulous and all staff members take the time to know each child’s name.

My family began attending New Haven Schools when my oldest was in first grade. This is now our ninth year of attending. I can not say enough wonderful things. My children's academic and sociall/emotional abilities have ranged from needing special education attention to being above average. In each situation, the needs of my children were met with excellence from administration, staff, and teachers alike. The parent support community is incredible as well. I highly recommend the New Haven community schools!

My family is welcomed each and every time we step into this school. It's fun for my children to reconnect with their former teachers who have had a lasting impact on them.

Transferred from another school after wanting to give our local public school district a chance. This is our third year at New Haven Elementary and could no be happier. The teachers and staff have been great. Administration is easily accessible when you have a concern, unlike larger school districts. The PTO keeps you informed of fun activities that they do for the students, along with getting to meet other parents at the school. Come see our school and learn what New Haven Elementary is really about!

Wonderful teachers and faculty! I feel they genuinely care about the students and their ability to grasp concepts and progress in their educational capabilities and preparation for higher levels of schooling. Not sure why ratings are low for this school district; After speaking with our children and seeing the results, myself and other parents who I've spoken with all agree - this school offers a great environment for your child to learn and excel, if they want to. Expectations are high, and teachers help the students get where they'd like to be. Communication with parents is great, for those who want it. If test scores aren't reflecting the potential of these schools, it's really not the fault of faculty or staff. All of the parents I've talked to are those who are genuinely interested in the well-being of their children's education, and have been satisfied if not excited about what New Haven Schools have had to offer their children.

I teach in a neighboring, well-respected district, but my children attend New Haven Community Schools. They are in elementary school, but attend in the Elementary portion of Endeavor which is tied to this school, so I have posted this review twice. I could not be happier with the education they are receiving. The teachers are kind, caring, and experienced. Because the district is small, I feel as if my children receive the kind of individualized instruction they need for academic achievement. The environment is nurturing and the expectations are high. The smaller size allows me to know all the individuals who have contact with my children and the parents of their peers. I feel as if my family belongs to a community of learners. In terms of available technology, NHCS is superior to it's larger neighbors and is working harder and faster to be on the cusp of educational changes. Because of their size, adaptations occur more quickly and efficiently. I adore the teachers, the principals, the support staff, and the superintendent. Every day I am grateful that I chose New Haven Community Schools. This district is a hidden jewel in Macomb County.

New Haven Elementary is a model school for their integration of technology in their classrooms. Students are able to learn and grow at their own rate with the support of multiple IPads in each classroom. I am nothing but impressed with the education presented to the students of New Haven.

Love, love, love this school!! My son has Asperger syndrome, and I really cannot say enough about the wonderful resources available to him. The staff is amazing, and provide both the structure needed and well as softness. Mr. Mrak, the principal amazes me everyday. He is always willing to roll up his sleeves and dig in when needed. Support is available when needed academically. This is a fantastic little school, and I highly recommend it!!!

New Haven Elementary is a small, close knit school where our principal teachers and parents help out. Everyone is looking out for each other's child/children. We are so happy to have NHE as the elementary that our child goes to. Our principal squats down to talk to the kids at their level and has been the first one helping a car out of the snow, the superintendent has sported crazy hair and had the kids amazed by his science experiments, our main janitor is always the first one to wear a silly hat or play a game wit the kids that earn rocket rewards. The front desk and our support staff always show such care for all of our students. It is an amazing school community. Go Rockets.
