The worst for my ADHD child they didn’t follow his 504 plan at all my son spent everyday being bullied and tormented and punished for his outburst when kids were picking on him! My once excited about school child was no longer excited about school I literally saw the spark in his eye and excitement every morning fading, so needless to say I pulled him from that school as soon as I realized what was happening!

Mr. Grammens is a wonderful teacher for the boys. My son was not interested in reading until Mr. Grammens.

I've always believed that a good education is about more than just academics- it's about developing the whole person and exposing them to diverse people and ideas. But being the only brown face in a sea of white ones doesn't exactly meet my criteria for diversity. Students of color also have to deal with the social development aspects of having few, if any, peers or teachers who look like them. I strongly suggest that you do not send your child to any Anchor Bay Schools if they are listed in the minority group. My daughter was bullied and called racial slurs words on several occasions. When we addressed the issues with the principal it was laughed off as child's play. We were constantly talked "down to". We both have advanced degrees, a beautiful home within the city, however we send our child to a neighboring school where we feel our child will be respected.

We love Ashley Elementary. Both of my children have gone to school, and we have been very pleased with the quality education they have received. The school still offers all of the specials that each child needs during their elementary education. Keep up the good work!

My son attends this school in a scaled class because I managed to pass on my ADHD to him. I've been very pleased. The teacher is excellent with him, and he actually seems to be learning as opposed to his previous school that sent him home more often than not. Since he was transferred about two years ago, he has not been sent home for bad behavior. If you have a child that has issues with ADHD, I can't recommend this school enough. The staff here is great and friendly, as opposed to his previous school.
