Great school! The teachers and administration have been amazing and above expectations in helping our child.

It's a nice and friendly environment. My kids like to go to school to learn and make friends.

Needham in general has changed immensely and not for the better. The school administration desperately needs a regimen change. The public and parents never get accurate accounts of events as they enjoy sweeping everything under the rug. The teachers are lazy and with my experience never are available for extra help/support. Once that bell rings they’re the first ones to the parking lot. In addition they are not consistent with the care and treatment of the students as favoritism is prevalent throughout the whole district.

I regret I sent my daughter to John Eliot on three accounts: a) the principal is remarkably rude sometimes, and while I try and show them all kinds of respect for the benefit of my child, oh boy, are they fear-driven, inflexible individuals. B) My child used to be a smart, inquisitive kid. She now asks a lot less questions, hardly ever brings homework, and has been somehow indoctrinated to learn and think in certain ways. C) It was interesting to watch how scripted and fake our teacher’s presentations to parents were. I think the problem is deeper than just teachers with limited 0”public speaking skills; Ithink it has to do with insufficient confidence as a result of the kind of culture the school has created.

This is a wonderful community! The teachers and parents are all very involved in making the best experiences for Eliot students. Teachers have been very responsive and helpful. Communication is great. We couldn't be happier with Eliot!

New building is not enough. John Eliot school has the lowest ratings in Needham. And new principal McNeal is not changing anything to improve the education. The education is still mediocre.
