The teachers could really benefit from in person diversity training not a clock through power point slides. No support for minority students that attend the school whom are not METCO students. How can teachers relate to this and provide support when they haven’t walked through this? They simply can’t. The teachers tend to label minority students. Check in with you child if they are a minority that attends this school. They are also very harsh on the transition from Elementary to Middle school to a point school becomes less enjoyable.

I think that they the transition into middle school was good but a little bit harsh. I do think that elementary school did not prepare me enough for middle school. Specifically there were many harsh consequences for students who forgot materials. In elementary school, all of our materials were left in our desk at school so that this would not become a problem. When I got to middle school this was a challenge because I wasn't trained before middles school to have all my materials for class. At Wilson Middle School, teachers, faculty, principles, and students always had some reason to write up and call out students for so called "inappropriate" behaviors. For example, wearing a shirt that showed your stomach was an "inappropriate" behavior. I find this so immature because everybody is given the same human body parts and it is wrong to show it. Everybody has a human body so it is not distracting since everybody already knows what a stomach is. Another really really really unprofessional behavior of especially the faculty was that they would show favoritism towards students that they liked better. For one thing this is extremely inappropriate because most of the students that were favorited were females. Another unprofessional thing shown by faculty was that teachers could not trust the students. An example, was that teachers felt the need to go into the bathrooms to check on the students to make sure they weren't doing any bad behaviors. This is so unnecessary because all students deserve their privacy especially in the bathrooms. Teachers don't need to be the one to go into those student locations and make them feel uncomfortable. Another example shown by teachers were with the 8th grade laptops. Do not give the students laptops if the teachers can't trust them. The laptops had to be on full brightness so that the teachers could creep around the room and see what they were doing. Teachers and staff gave the 8th graders new opportunities for these laptops including the laptops and they were banned and consequences were made. Why give them new resources if you can't trust them. The schools is very nice on the outside and inside. The materials are very nice and new. The only bad thing is that the faculty can not trust their students, are irrelevant, and focus more on giving their students consequences for unreasonable things than teaching their subject.
