Great elementary school. Students come out of Ben-Hem with both strong academic skills and compassion for others.

Excellent. Both of my children love it at a Ben Hem and the teachers have all been wonderful.

The teachers at this school do not teach to the test. Instead, they create engaging lesson plans that encourage students to explore subject areas more indepthly and develop a learner mindset. Additionally, they also look at developing the whole child. If a child lacks confidence, they sneak in ways to allow the child to shine. If a child needs help socially, they thoughtfully arrange the classroom to create opportunities. In these little, but expertly managed ways, teachers forge a great learning environment. The school also has a fabulous PTO that hosts many events throughout the year that really help families feel like they are part of a school community.

A school with a very large student body where teachers, principal and involvement of parents could be rated 'Good' ...or higher, however more could be done to help shy or anxious kids come out of their shell and strive in a supportive environment. My kids do not have any issues, but this is some of the feedback I have heard from a fair number of parents.

The principal is fantastic. Young, energetic and dedicated! Parents are very involved in the school through volunteer opportunities, PTO, sports and other activities.
