    My son has been here since PreK and I have to say we have been truly blessed! He has had the best teachers! Very caring and very good communication. He will be attending 3rd grade this year and he is very excited to start this new year with a fabulous teacher. The teachers, principal and staff all make an effort to learn each childs name.

    I have had 2 kids in this school and have had some bad experience with the assistant principals principles and teachers not always the best communication. A good amount of the teachers are friendly but then they also have the half that are very unfriendly.

    The school has no communication with the parents. As a parent who moved here my son is now doing worse than before.

    I go to Salem Elemantry School and I am in the 5th Grade I have gone to almost every school in Morganton but W.A. Young and I think this school is the best out of all the schools I have attended.

    Salem Elementary School was a blessing to our child. Every teacher KNEW her by name. She was well cared for and her educational needs were met. Family values were taught. Parents were included in decisions. I was extremely distraught when my child was moved out of school district her last year at Salem. Teachers, Principal, everyone - excellent.

    It is a great school for the kids. They take the kids needs to heart and work with each one as an individual rather than a group of students. They are real not 'just doing their job'
