I attended St. George's for nine years and I can say that it is probably one of the best schools you could ever send your child to. The teachers really do care about every single student, and they work hard to make them succeed. They don't tolerate bullying at all when it's made known, but when it happens only rarely is it reported. The only problems I had at this school were with my peers, and for the most part it wasn't the school that was at fault. St. George's is expensive, secluded, and Christian so it's understandable that there was a complete lack of diversity (I would like to note that while they do have bible and theology classes, the staff there never tried to force anyone into their beliefs, and they have had students from all religions, just very few). Students there tend to form very tight cliques, very early on. As soon as I transferred there in Kindergarten it was already set in motion. I became friends with kids who had gotten there that year, and I was blatantly told by the girls who had been there since they were three that I was unwelcome and unwanted as a friend. In most grades, I saw the divide between the new and returning students closing, but in the grades surrounding and below mine it continuously grew. I had friends that were made fun of and bullied for no reason other than the fact that they weren't as confident, pretty, or social as our peers (which was 17 of mostly the same kids my entire time there), and they were basically outcast because of it. I still hear about it from my friends that didn't transfer on both sides. If you are looking for the best education possible, SGES is certainly for you, but make sure you weigh it against how comfortable your children are in the environment there. I am completely appalled by the education I'm now receiving in the Griffin-Spalding district, but I still don't think I would choose to go back. I'm sure that this only happens to about 1 in every 10 students, but be mindful of how your child is getting along with the other students there, once a kid is singled out as odd the divide just continues to grow because of the very small number of students that attend.

My child has attended SGES since 6th grade and graduated this year. All of the graduates were admitted into their 1st college choice. They received almost $1 million in scholarships and a 1230 SAT average. My son got leadership opportunities in the community and at school. SGES was one of the best parenting decisions we ever made for our child.

We moved our two girls to SGES for 6th grade and kindergarten 3 years ago and have never looked back. This has been the best decision we have made for our children and my husband and I firmly believe that we have changed the course of their lives for the better by enrolling them at SGES. We drive close to an hour to get to school and do this for the opportunities that SGES provides our girls. The importance placed on academics, extracurricular activities, leadership involvement and the family friendly environment are exactly what we were looking for. We are blessed to have found SGES ..... it has changed our lives.

SGES has and is providing my 2 children with an outstanding education in and out of the classroom setting. SGES is academically challenging, which assures that the students are working to their full potential and are prepared for college. SGES does an exceptional job at developing character and leadership through numerous school activities . The staff is dedicated and takes the time to get to know each student. The school provides so many opportunities outside of the classroom walls to learn and lead. Our children love their school as much as we (the parents) do.

I have two children who have graduated from SGES. Both were well prepared for college. In many subjects they outperformed their peers in their college classes by a landslide. But most importantly, my children are leaders. They speak well in front of groups, and enjoy leading a team. While their father and I share much of the credit for their personalities, SGES helped them to develop many of the skills and talents that are helping them to succeed today.

St. George's is a wonderful school! My three children have all attended St. George's and the decision to send them there has been one of the best we have ever made. The family-like environment is one of the best parts of the school, but it is also academically challenging and will prepare each student for success in life. The administration and staff are continually focused on creating a place where each child can reach his/her potential. St. George's has been a huge part of the success my children are now experiencing in high school and their high school teachers often ask them where they went to school before. Can't recommend highly enough!

St. George s Episcopal School feels like family. The school consists of teachers and wonderful families who care about the education, spiritual development, and success of each child. I have had the opportunity for all three of my children to attend St. George s, and they all have received an excellent education. Also, my children received the opportunity to participate in many activities that would have been most likely unobtainable in public school. Two of my children are now attending college, and their closest friends are still the ones they made at St. George s. St. George s is truly an amazing school!

I believe that SGES has been an asset and positive experience for my children. I agree with the previous post which said the school fosters feelings that it is "cool to be smart" and "cool to be kind". I see middle school children who not only know kindergartners, but also interact with them in positive ways. I don't think that type of kindness exists in the public school systems. The curriculum has proven to be challenging and given my child who has graduated to High School an education where they have been ready to progress into advanced classes in High School. Great school and great experience!

I think that SGES offers the most sound educational experience in the Spalding, Lamar, Butts, and Pike County areas! The teachers are especially caring, dedicated, and well-trained.
