I'm a senior in Highschool and my bus driver has had breakdowns due to the students at this school. She wrote this 5th grader up over 4 TIMES. FOUR.! And that usually bans the students from riding the bus, but y'all decided to just make the boy write an essay. Do you know how awful that is to just ignore the disciplinary actions? My bus driver had to stop a kid from choking her child. That's even worse!! The administrators do absolutely nothing when everything is on tape. How about you try to drive a bus full of kids that won't stop clapping for 30 minutes and see if you wanna deal with that for the school year and no matter how hard you try, your higher-ups won't do anything about it. You'll have parents talking bad about you because the child makes it to where the driver is in the wrong. The main reason why these kids aren't respectful for having bus drivers that get them home and to school safely is because the parents do not care. They really don't and they think their child will do nothing wrong at that age until sooner or later, they'll get put into TLC and the parents throw a hissy-fit. Absolutely disgusting actions from Lamar County.

Great school! Faculty is always ensuring the children’s safety. This makes me feel secure.

I have only experienced the Elementary and Primary schools in Lamar County, but my experience with both has been great. I love the community involvement they offer, I love the sense of tradition and local familiarity. I grew up in bigger towns & none of the teachers (much less administration), knew students they didn't teach. Not only do most of the staff know both my kids, they know me. I feel my kids are developing a strong foundation, and are safe (I love having the Sheriff department great them every morning). From what I've seen with other kids, the students that struggle are lacking parental involvement. All of the kids I know with active parents, are excellent students.

I think this school is GREAT!! To the parent who said (I am going to copy it) "I do feel that her teacher could do better with teaching her things like writting her name and counting .I know that coloring is good too but it seems to me that there is to much of that and not enough of practicing her writing her name .I feel she should be learning it at school .yet everyday she comes home with a back pack filled with color sheets which i am not saying aren't just as important .But it seems to me that i am being made to Teach her to spell and write her name .I put her in kindergarten to learn these things .Why should she go to school if i am the one teaching her ?" Maybe your daughter does the sheets during free center time like my children do (both in kindergarten also). Do you work with your child at home with her writing and spelling of her name? Yes they should learn at school, but the learning DOES NOT stop when they get home...
