Our son had an excellent kindergarten teacher who was run out of another school because she emphasized phonemic awareness. We brought our other children to this school after Whittier elementary had them on the path to being dyslexic. I am a retired board certified teacher.

My Grandson goes to this school, and I have a problem with the Explore program in the school. He has an IEP, and no one is really there for him in the program. They suspend and write up my Grandson, bit when kids are saying racial slurs and taking his toys nothing is done. Only discipline for him after he reacts. I think the program is discriminatory against special needs and African Americans. If Explore can't treat special needs kids fairly, it shouldn't be in the school.

Wonderful school! I have a daughter in 3rd grade. She has been going to falcon hill since kindergarten. The teachers have all been amazing, and the new principal at the school this year is so kind and I can tell she wants to do what’s best for all the kids at the school. I also love the PBL focus.

With 3 children, we have been through a few elementary schools through open enrollment. Falcon Hill, by far, surpasses any school my children have attended, including another Mesa school. At Falcon Hill, my children feel like school is their home away from home, a second family. We love this school so much that we traveled from Gold Canyon to attend for 2 years and recently moved to be closer to Falcon Hill since we have an incoming kindergartner. This school offers so much support for students and even parents. The teachers show so much care for the students and are willing to go above and beyond to help students achieve. Additionally, the PTA puts on many events throughout the year to help students feel involved and there are after school clubs that students can join. Another wonderful opportunity offered at Falcon Hill is Project Based Learning. My daughter loves the hands on, real life learning opportunities. Lastly, we love that Falcon Hill teaches and reaches to students Social Emotional needs through daily lessons, partnering with other classes, and counseling lessons. We are so happy we finally found the perfect school for our kids!

I don’t ever write reviews. But no one should allow their child to go to this school. I would give Falcon Hill 0 stars. Teachers and staff, homework, leadership, character, learning differences, and bullying are all terrible at this school. My child went here for a year, and he’s going to a new school for next school year and we’re both excited about it. They didn’t care at all about my child, and I’m sure they don’t care about any of their students.

We have two children that attend this school since 2015. We are most happy with Project Based Learning and the pride in our school.

Terrible. Our child started kindergarten at the school. She went through THREE teachers for the same class. Our child was not offered any emotional support for these changes. We were lied to on numerous occasions, during the constant shift in teachers. Our child was devestated after losing yet another teacher, feeling it was her fault. When we broached this subject with the principal, we were told “children are resilient and that this wasn’t a big issues.” If you’re looking for an amazing, safe, consistent elementary school, this is NOT it. Thankfully, we have a choice here in AZ. And we’ve chosen not to be here.

My experience at this school was awful. I was a student K-6. (2005-2012) This school had a horrible overall atmosphere. I did not feel welcome or safe going here. When I went here, the teachers only payed attention to those that were troublemakers, or those that were insanely smart. If you were an average kid that doesn't get into trouble (As I was) you were ignored. For instance, In one of my earlier years (Kindergarten or 1st grade) I was not even included in the year book. How can you not know that a student exists? That's insane. This school is extremely unorganized, and at the time, uninterested in solving any problems that students may have. I was constantly getting bullied, and I tried all sorts of options to cause it to stop. When the front office and the principal said that there was nothing they could do to stop it, (which is ridiculous) my mom sat me down that day and told me that If I needed to defend myself, I could. If I needed to fight back against the bullies, to do so without worry of the consequences. That's something a parent shouldn't have to say to a child attending an elementary school. I dreaded getting up every morning to go to this school. I spent my time constantly staring at the clock, wishing for the end of the day to come as fast as it could. As horrible as it was being a student during my time, I seriously do hope its a lot better now. I don't want any of the current, and future students to go through what I did. (What was mentioned was only the tip of the ice berg).

I don't usually write reviews but I am compelled to after my experiences with this school. Let's start with the year 2015.I won't give away the identity of my child so I will be referring to my child as Daughter/Son and vice versa. My son/daughter was in P.E. one day and asked the P.E. teacher not to participate due to a pain in the leg. According to my daughter/son, the P.E. teacher said in these words, "Is that your excuse for not wanting to participate in P.E.? Now mind you, I had no idea this had happened until later in the day when I took my Son/Daughter to the store. He/She complained that his/her leg was hurting. I asked many questions and my daughter/son stated that the pain started earlier in school. After many questions, I learned that my Son/Daughter was forced to participate in P.E. with a hurt leg. Mind you, my Son/Daughter is very athletic, and he/she was forced to participate in P.E. I was appalled when I learned that instead of sending my child to the nurse, he/she was criticized for not participating. I immediately called the office to notify them of what has happened.I told them that " I wished to remain anonymous as to not bring retaliation on my son/daughter. " The office staff told me over the phone that they could not assist me unless they knew my name and my child's name. My goal was to bring to their attention that malpractice was being conducted. They told me that nothing could be done unless I gave up my name and my child's name. I refused in fear of retaliation against my Daughter/Son as any loving parent would. I also told them that this problem would not go away until resolved properly. The office lady on the phone finally changed her tune and said that she would notify the principle. I made the mistake of accepting her word as I did not want any trouble....How unprofessional of a school or anyone to handle a situation in this manner. If my child had a broken leg bone, and had continued on in P.E. , there would be a lawsuit against Falcon Hill. Luckily for them, that did not happen. But jeez, if a child that loves sports is hurt, there should be an option for them to see the nurse instead of being forced to play hurt. Negative stars for the way that P.E. teacher and office lady handled the situation. Absolutely unprofessional!!!! Lawyers will be involved next time.

Love the Principal, Dr. Cannon, Third grade teachers, Resource teachers, and staff. Always a pleasant experience. My daughter loves it and has flourished since moving here.

This is my 2nd yr of my child attending this school. I have to say, I am quite impressed! The teachers are so caring. The principal is the most involved I've ever seen a principal to be and the kids all love her! You can tell the children in this school are being cared for by the joy in their faces going in and coming out of school! My son loves it and everyday looks forward to going. Their policies on bullying are also exceptional. Couple of minor incidents that were nipped in the bud immediately. The teachers welcome communication and participation from parents! Love this school!

This is my 8th year as a parent at Falcon Hill elementary and during that time i have recommended this school to a number of people. But in the past year i feel like I'm back in high school. Drama, drama, drama. The teachers are great but the PTO whom have taken over the school have made it unbearable. The school isn't about the students anymore. its about competioin between parents.and the children are suffering. ther are no consequences for the inappropriate behaviors witnessed of the staff.
