My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten (2014/2015 school year ) The principal, VP, office staff, teachers and aids so far have all been patient, caring, and show personal interest . The principal and /or VP stand at the gate before school and after rain or shine greeting students and parents , even helping cross streets, getting in cars ect... which makes you feel safe leaving your child in their care . Again, we are very sad to see our principal leave this year!!! But, hope our new one will continue keep this school great for our kids.

My son attended this school from first to fifth grade. Like all schools there are bullies. But I will say its a good school. What must parents don't understand is, there are laws that protect kids including the bullies. A principle cannot just kick kids out of school for being a bully the first time or even the fourth time. They have to make a paper trail, and if you think they like having to keep them at their school, think again. Don't you think they would like to kick them out the first time. It just really makes me mad that parent expect the bully to be kicked out the first time, but if it were their kid, they would want the school to look into the incident not just kick thier kid out. Oh and one last thing, Burbank is the only non improvement school in Merced county. Meaning they are the only school to meet state standards, when it comes to test scores.

WARNING: Burbank Elementary is a terrible school. The principal is a tyrant who refuses to acknowledge HIS school has a bullying problem. The school is a place where bullying is an everyday thing that is not taken seriously by the PRINCIPAL and if you approach him to talk about ANY problems you might have, he will single you and your child out and make your family's life a nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. Don't look for support with problems from PRINCIPAL or district, as they all cover for each other. The daily lunch menu is not what is served so you waste your money. Parents DO NOT volunteer at this school very often due to PRINCIPAL not allowing them to help in any constructive way. Most children here not very nice, have lack of social skills, bully each other and the test scores are terrible. USE YOUR SCHOOL OF CHOICE OPTION IF YOU ARE IN THIS DISTRICT AS MOST PARENTS THAT CARE ABOUT THEIR KID'S EDUCATION DO AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

The school can only work with the product they are given. Many children from this neighborhood do not have academic support from their families. Therefore, the teachers have to waste time with the children who are not engaged. AVOID THIS SCHOOL
