Everyone at this school is so welcoming and friendly. The children are greeted by name every morning by smiling faculty and staff. My son’s kindergarten teacher is phenomenal...my son has learned so much in a short period of time and she is genuinely kind and supportive. My son absolutely loves her and can’t imagine having another teacher. We transferred to Morton after a bad experience in a parochial school at the end of the 1st quarter and I was very touched when the principal called me after his first week to touch base and ask me how things were going and ask if I had any concerns. My husband and I love that we live so close to an excellent school!

Most of the teachers are awesome, especially Ms. Cvetovac, she went above & beyond with both of my kids in third grade & helped them to become confident & love school. Can't say enough good things about her. I have mixed feelings... my kids loved the school & classes. If your child is struggling in reading as a parent you just have to be their voice & demand that get the help they need continually! I felt my child slipping through the cracks as it was hard to get her into extra reading programs because she wasn't as bad as some of the other kids. 1st grade reading was horrible that teacher retired so I'm sure it's much better now. She got more help in 2nd & even more in third grade. So it's getting better. They are now focused more on writing so I think that will benefit my younger child. My older child struggles with writing today as it really wasn't addressed enough until 5th grade at which time it was slammed down their throats & they were expected to be excellent writers all of a sudden. My son did experience bullying at this school and I do not feel that it was handled properly at all. My child was shoved in the hallway numerous time & called names. The teachers didn't believe him until the kid admitted to it. My child hit a tree with a stick on recess because he was so upset with the bullying that day & he ended up with a detention for that while I'm not even sure the bully even got one for shoving my son. Another time ,same kid, during indoor recess through a punch at my son while being supervised by a hall monitor. She broke it up & let them both stay in the classroom where the kid started throwing the tables around because of his anger issues after she left the room again leaving them alone. I'm not even sure if he received any proper punishment just a slap on the wrist. I told them they better keep the kid away from my son & not allow him in indoor recess without a monitor in the room. I told them If they weren't going to look out for him if the kid touched my child again I told my child to defend himself. I think the principal should have been tougher on punishment & bullies. Especially with the supposed no tolerance & all the anti-bullying assemblies. A new principal is coming this year & I hope she is tougher on bullying. But like I said my kids loved the school regardless. There's a lot of parent involvement. I still rate it 4 stars overall

I pullled all of my children out of this school after 3 years of bullying. The principal was no help. She has her favorites and that's that. The teacher's look the other way. Such a shame. The-anti bullying policy does not work if the children and staff look the other way. All the t-shirts in the world and assemblies are not going to make the policy work.
