Wow! I knew Harvey would rank low... but a 2/10?! I can only imagine how successful I'd be if I had gone to a better school! I graduated in 2003 so I don't know what it's like there these days. I'd call myself pretty successful as a Financial Analyst, making about $70K/yr now. I guess I'm one of the lucky few Harvey graduates that made it out okay. It can be done!!!

Harvey is a very unique school. It is very diverse which is great because it teaches cultural acceptance, but is also a problem because nobody (faculty) knows how to teach all of us. Some teachers are helpful if they like you. If you have a reputation as a "trouble" student a majority of the faculty judge and treat you that way before getting to know you. The arts are great, very talented kids! Ms. Hildack pushes the choir and musical kids to put on a great shows. Same with Mr. Jones the band director. The sports are okay. The teams normally get new coaches every year so there is no consistency with the coaching, which causes the teams to constantly lose. And when a team keeps losing nobody wants to join the following year. The academics are not challenging at all. Even taking all honors I was not prepared for college. But I am a lucky one and managed to keep a 3.4 GPA in college, unlike some of my fellow classmates that failed out. The expectations for students are very low. They teach to pass the test not for learning and understanding the topic. The good teachers are not backed by the board, and some kids feel like they are set up to fail going here.

My step sons go to harvey one graduated last year the principal and teacher are so kind hearted and great with the kids we live in wi and i wish our schools could have people who take the extra mile for these kids like harvey hs does keep up the great work and god bless you all mrs zamora
