Our children received the best experience possible at McKinley.

We have had an amazing experience with the Fairport School system. The smaller school size enables a feeling of comfort for the parents and children. The teachers care about the children both personally and with their educational success. Our children have thrived in this school system.

We have three children in the FHEVS district and we have had nothing but great experiences. The IB curriculum has been so impressive and we are very proud of our schools.

As a newly accredited International Baccalaureate school, they do not teach to the state standard testing, yet the students do still have to take them. Therefore the overall Ohio school report card will not reflect the very progressive and positive things happening at the school. We have been here for five years and other than dealing with old buildings and parking issues (that will hopefully be resolved when the new schools are built), we love McKinley. IB seems to be almost like Montessori on steroids. They start foreign language in preschool (full day on site) and continue up through elementary. My kindergartner has the same course load as my 4th grader. The method of teaching is very hands on, you are taught to WANT to figure things out, not just memorization and homework. They were doing Project Based Learning before other schools in the county as well. I do not have experience with disabilities but in the younger grades they allow students to move more freely, learn at different centers, and have "bouncy" seating. They also frequently have "second recess"

My family just moved to the village after hearing of the historic revitalization underway. We are one of many young families moving here to start small businesses and we love the school. Their International Baccalaureate application was just accepted! There are small classes, lots of project based learning in elementary, second language in elementary, coding and computers for K+. They have speciality programs like Her Ideas In Motion, and more. A lot of the information on Zillow is outdated. The principals name is Jennifer Polak.
