Im working on removing my daughter from this school. I toured the school and talked to my daughters teachers about bullying and harrassment of kids during school which has been an issue with my daughter being new there. I also found out to use the restroom she has to go alone outside the classroom in the outer area of the buildings alone unsupervised and walk inside the restroom located outside where anyone can go in after her god forbid who can help a 5yr old of someone does something in an outdoor restroom. This is not right. Teachwr said we can't take kids to restrooms and teach a class. Then they should have a full time security at the restrooms period to keep kids safe. A boy can go in there and whos gonna know

This school has been such a blessing. The teachers and staff greet my son by name, they are very supportive of my son and communicate openly. I trust my son is in good hands when he is in school. The school is patriotic and supports veterans and their kiddos, I couldn’t recommend this school enough.

This school is poorly set up and the principle cares more about his budget than the quality of education for the children. He routinely cancels scheduled events and may or may not allow them to happen based upon the parental complaints received from the events cancellation, the schools 100 mile club awards are an example of this. The school starts an hour earlier than other elementary schools in the district and the number of tardy students trying to rush in through their poorly planned traffic system is absurd. Also the playground is not open prior to school hours and the school breakfast they provide was not available to students until it was pointed out that the school receives money for but didn't provide the meals. Then there's the district which definitely sees the kids as revenue instead of aspiring young students. My son received about a third of the support that was required by his IEP and the sped department will employs people that don't behave as though they are qualified for the position. So basically if you have another option for your child, I would go with that, even if it's further away. Your kids deserve a system that responds to the needs of its students, not a school that will fail them for the sake of saving money.

I don't give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement..However it is all about your desire to be better. This school, it's current leadership, the teachers work hard and are open and honest about the good and bad. Communication is top notch..not always what we want to hear as parents sometimes, but necessary. The PTA is fluff, but that's alright for elementary schools. I am second full cycle parent at this site and very pleased to be back....One word...Parents Volunteer!

FCE is a fabulous school! We pride ourselves in being collaborative and constructive and encourage comments posted on this website to also be forwarded to staff. I invite parents to meet with teachers and myself with constructive ideas to continue to be the best school in serving students and their needs. I am excited to be back at this awesome school as a site administrator after teaching and a FCE parent when the school opened. My own children are on their way to college thanks to the solid foundation, emphasis on character and morals this school instilled in them. I am proud to lead and serve at this school. Our efforts in becoming a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Model School have been fruitful. Student motivation and achievement are "Soaring to Success!" Please continue to be a constructive partner in education by collaborating with us, bringing your ideas to the school where we can be work together for the benefit of your children and our students! Horrible, horrible school! They allowed my daughter to get bullied multiple times in class, on the playground, and in the after school program. Emphasis is put on over the top behavior problems and kids whom are emotional distrurbed are mainstreamed into the normal classroom setting. These problem chidren receive cuddle bears, special seating, special treats while the normal kids look on and are told these other children are "special." The parking lot is a nightmare where I have seen many parents cussing each other out and pounding on windows over parking spaces! Joke of a school with no multicultural diversity and many MANY mean students. Take your kids any where else but here. I wouldn't put these people in charge of my dog.

My son started Kindergarten and I am very displeased with this school. Within the two weeks of school he started with one teacher only to be told at back to school night that she would be teaching a K/1 Combo and 12 kids had to go. Principal assured me that he would stay in class based on enrollment date only to get a call that he is changing classes. The new teacher has no volunteer opportunities for us since we were not in her class from the beginning of the year. We feel so out of the loop even when we try to talk to the teacher, principal etc. I am definetly looking into Santa Rosa for 1st grade.

My children and the rest of my family really do miss the year round schedule.. I would love that again. The only problem is my children complain about bus 44 because the bus driver is mean. (?)

I am really surprised by some of these reviews but not really since usually the people who take the time to do this are unhappy about something. I also believe that output is proportional to input. At Back to School night every parent was given the opportunity to volunteer in my son's class. So many did that my on my scheduled day there was often nothing left to do! I have been to spaghetti dinners, mother- son dances, there's movie night every Friday night. Short of sitting next to my son all day in class, there couldn't be more opportunities for parent involvement . Principal Adcock is OUTSTANDING: dedicated and approachable. I can only speak for one teacher, Mrs Sunseri, but her commitment to my son's success makes her hero worthy! To paraphrase EB White this is SOME School! Great job FCE! California Distinguished School I might add!
