I absolutely hate this school. It’s so much drama. They definitely are racist but act like they not. The teachers, principal, AP, administrators and counselors don’t do anything about kids being bullied. The teachers will give papers for summer school and you get signed up for it and then they will tell you are not registered for summer school. Then they fail you and embarrass you. One police is very aggressive for unnecessary reasons only to the black kids. The dress code is dumb. No spaghetti straps, crop tops and ripped jeans because it affects boys. Since when do boys find kneecaps, stomachs, and shoulders attractive? Can’t wear certain shoes and pj pants. The black girls can’t wear shorts but the white girls can wear really short, shorts with a XL t-shirt that’s covering half there body like it’s a dress.

The entire culture of this school is toxic in so many ways I can't explain. My daughter has been treated so poorly by her peers, and not by your traditional bullies who all of us grew up with but a whole new generation of intelligent, super involved in school activities, loved by all the teachers and administrators, passive aggressive, rumor spreading bullies. The majority of the bullies come from the "STUCO" (student council). Why does any school need such a large and powerful presence for student government. Student government should be a special position with no more than four elected per class of students who TRULY embrace the best qualities of the school. Instead Mauldin as turned it into a popular and giant clique of bullies. If something you do rubs one student council member the wrong way, even something as simple as ending a high school relationship, that ENTIRE clique of probably 75-100 kids will have it out for your for the rest of your high school experience. Of course, its all sneaky and done behind the scenes in passive aggressive ways on social media, little things like pointing and laughing, driving by with a car of them just staring at your or yelling things at you in the parking lot. Rumors spread about you that are so far from the truth that it's actually absurd. Suddenly you have a "reputation" you in no way earned and no one wants to be your friend or date you. and the bullying tactics and intimidation continue. If you participate in any school activities, you are treated so poorly you never want to participate again. The administrators don't know you or care about you, despite the fact that you are an excellent student with a high gpa and a bright future, simply because you don't sign up for all the school activities because you don't feel WELCOME. You are non existent to them, while they continue to rub elbows and be best friends with the STUCO kids. Then finally you are so defeated you come home crying every day and you don't know how you will make it to graduation. Administration DO BETTER. "Mavs Matter" means nothing when they don't ALL matter to you. Reach out to the quiet kids, even the ones who smile to hide their pain. Change the culture of this enviroment. Make passive aggressive bullying something you hold students, even your precious STUCO members accountable for. Simply put. DO BETTER .

Very positive. Very good leadership, caring & competent counseling staff and teachers. The custodial staff do an amazing job of keeping the school neat & tidy.

Have had three children graduate from Mauldin HS and all were well prepared to handle their university classes.

By far the best all-around, holistic high school in Greenville County (out of all public, private, and charter schools). Extremely underrated: It prepares students beyond-belief for higher education and the "real world." I learned soo much inside and outside of the classroom and met some of the greatest, deepest, friends I could ask for.

Worse school in Greenville county. Teachers have no respect for students, and are just there for the paycheck. I have had many problems with my child's teachers. Maybe the school would be better if the teachers made the environment for learning better by fixing their attitudes.

Mydaughter graduated in 2009 and attended Clemson. She graduated in 4 years Magna Cum Laude in microbiology and now works for LabCorp. Mauldin High's programs and teacher help keep her on the path that Mauldin Middle and Oakview set her on. The opportunity at Mauldin is there to succeed if taken with some work and disciplin. Read, study, work hard, and ask for help when you need it. I have two other daughters who graduated from Mauldin HS. One graduated from USC Upstate and the other is a sophomore at Clemson and has made Dean's list the past 3 semesters. Parent involvement is up to the parents; Principals have changed and can't address but teachers care and want their students to succeed.

I'm about to go into my 3rd year at Mauldin. If you are a parent looking for a nice school to send your child to. I do NOT recommend Mauldin. Your child's learning environment is constantly tempered with by the intolerance and ignorance of students and even some teachers. Even with resource officers always on campus, the drug problem is still pretty bad. Hopefully with the new principal starting this school year (2013-14) we will shape up and come together as a school to improve academically and in other extracurricular activities. Even though it's not my first choice for a school, it is my school, and I have to show some pride in that, GO MAVS!

This school. I wont miss it at all, except for some friends. Word to the wise DONT get sucked into all the drugs being sold. Some of the people are genuinely scary once you get to know them. It all isn't worth a few grams trust me. No matter how much it improves your grades. It comes back later and makes everything soo much worse. Best advice I can give is join clubs or sports. I enjoyed some teachers, it was really hit or miss. I noticed the honors and college prep kids are basically kept separate, which is kinda weird. Also, whenever the hobbit comes out of her cave for food, she is rather rude to the students. Oh well, life lessons i guess. GO MAVS!!
