We have had a great experience at MMS. For the most part, the teachers have been great and any time I’ve contacted them, they’ve been helpful. The office staff are super nice and helpful, unlike a lot of schools. I’ve never had any issues with the principal, but It doesn’t seem like she’s very engaged. My daughter loves the administrators and is involved in extra curricular activities, which I’m grateful are available. I will say though, my daughter is constantly picked on by boys mostly, and the teachers either don’t notice or don’t act.

Absolutely terrible leadership. Do you know how many staff they’ve had to replace this year? That leaves one common person at the top of all of it. They can’t even find another Parent to run the PTA because the principal is miserable to work with. My child can tell the teachers are miserable and I can clearly see why. My child is stressed, says it’s run like a prison, and never ever sees the principal in the halls. Only when she wants to berate them. I had two other children go through this school and I wish one of those principals were still there. Much different from each other, but much better than the one now

0 stars - Mauldin Middle is absolutely 100% HORRIBLE! The principal, Karen Green is along the same lines as a prison guard. She is cold, uncaring, unfair, harsh and lacks leadership skills and communication skills. She speaks to parents like they are children, argues with you and refuses to hear anyone's point of view or side of any situation except for the teacher. With that said, all children are treated as guilty from the word go and if the teacher even "assumes" without any proof, they suspend your child. Now, this is not all children, only some children. The rules only apply to the kids to walk a perfect chalk line, the teachers are allowed to ask your child for inappropriate request, be rude to your child and sarcastic and talk to other children about your child. No action is ever taken against them for anything. It is hard for your child to learn in this environment because control is more important to this principal and the staff, than the well being and what is best for your child is. My child hates this school to the point of me having to fight with all my might to get her to even get up and go in and that is so sad. She has suffered with her grades tremendously because minute pettiness and control issues with the staff there keep most of the children upset. I hope they find another principal or even shut the whole school down because it has ruined my Childs view point of the educational system and confidence. She suffered the whole 1st year there being bullied and treated with prejudice. we HATE Mauldin Middle school to our core. This school has affected my child in every negative way possible. If we can move on from this hell hole and recover the next few yeas will be a miracle.

The new principal has truly worked very hard this year bringing staff and students together. His communication has been ongoing every week and direct. My son had the best year in 6th grade and great teachers he enjoyed, except for math. Otherwise he enjoyed school. Really appreciate the office staff, very helpful.

The students will bully and belittle everyone else to gain popularity. The quality of education lacks due to the classroom atmosphere.
