Amazing School! Our son is getting everything he needs.

My daughter only attended this school for a year, not for any negative reasons, but rather we were buying our time to transfer her into Marietta Center for Advanced Academics (Out of District) for their certified Stem Program. Since, she only attended for a year, then I cannot provide a holistic review of the elementary path she would have taken her, but from the start, I can say it was a much better improvement than the time at Addison Elementary. The school was rather new, and likely still is about 3 years ago now from this writing. I think a new building also really breathes new life into the people that want to come and teach our children to learn new things. I can honestly say that this was the sentiment we felt. The coursework seemed above average from what you would come expect in a district with high rankings for their schools. The carpool is a question, I am sure most people are curious about at any school, but this one after a few days of trying it out is structured well. We had no issues with the teachers or administration. My favorite two observations about the school, the first being the priority is the security in place from the entrance to deter a mass tragedy. It is not something any parent wants to think too much about, but being in a country with the bountiful freedoms we enjoy with good or bad mental states, this must be at the fore front of all parents minds. Luckily, they have a great system for this. If you ever tour the school, it will be the first thing you learn. My second favorite thing about the school is the party they have for the kids towards the end of the year. I have never had so much fun on a party bus, yes a party bus that they rent out. It is such a joy to treat the kids with at least a bit of fun after working so hard during the year. Overall, the school gets an A+ in my book. If MCAA, had not worked out, then we would of had our daughter just attend here for 3 years.

I am a graduated 5th grade student of 2021. This school is great, but sometimes got me stressed out. The teachers are nice and caring as far as it gets, but sometimes the endless lectures of “needing to do your work” gets tiring. My older brother also attended this school and to be honest we both didn’t do the absolute best. I left with two medium grades and the rest were B’s and A’s. The emails of missing assignments didn’t necessarily help either, as I’d just get yelled at/lectured for it. I think if the student is struggling, to have the teachers put effort to help instead of immediate emails. Sure, the student should be keeping up with the work but sometimes we have sports, outside activities, chores, and other things. To be honest sometimes i felt drained. Nearing the end i only felt free after annouced i passed.Obviously the adults are probably going to read this and say “The kids are just being lazy!” But sometimes theres more to it.

During the pandemic my daughter’s first grade teacher did absolutely nothing for the kids. No zoom classes, no homework, nothing. When I emailed her all she said was to have the kids read for twenty minutes a day. My daughter fell so far behind. I eventually enrolled her in private school where she has been excelling. I agree with the other user who wrote that the positive reviews were written by the staff themselves.

5 stars!!!! One thing about this school as a parent every morning when I drop off my son everyone is so friendly smiling and looks and just feels very excited to be there. The warm inviting feeling to a parent is comforting. Thank you MVE for caring for our kids!!!

We feel "stuck" at this school bc this is where our children are zoned. The counselor MacDonald is a joke in itself. Such a cartoon character that doesn't belong. Don't expect a nurturing environment bc your child will receive the exact opposite. Such a negative atmosphere and if you read positive reviews please KNOW it's their staff writing the reviews.

Love this school. Fabulous experience. Especially love the speech teachers who have been a blessing to our family. New building will open in the fall which will only make for an even better learning environment.

Mountain View is an amazing school! Our children have had great teachers at every grade level. The teachers and administrators do an excellent job getting to know each student and there is such a nurturing environment inside the school. We came from another East Cobb school where we were not impressed, and Mountain View has exceeded our expectations in every way.

My child attended from 1St to 5th grade. She didn't want to go to school at all her entire first year. A male teacher was too intimidating and not at all nurturing for her. He was also on the lazy side, always marking papers as correct instead of checking them. I shared my feelings, I wasn't the only one, to no avail. There were a select few teachers as well as front office staff who made the rest of the years bearable, at best. Cafeteria staff is angry all the time.

This school is wonderful. I thought it wouldn't be a great school because is rated 7 out 10 (greatschools.com), however we found that Mountain View Elementary is a very nurturing school, they do interesting activities for the kids and the staff is very kind and respectful to the children and parents. My child loves this school.

We sent three children to this school with two of them graduating into middle as of 2015; we all loved it. We live in the nearby Northampton subdivision, so it is tremendously close for walking to school, the bus or driving. There is a strong focus on academics and it feeds into a nationally top rated Middle School (Simpson) and the #6 high school in the state according to US News & World Report (Lassiter). Lots of good after school clubs, and they have a strong PTA. In two years from now, a new school will be built 1/4 mile down the road, so new technology will be more available than today.

My daughter went to this school. I was a bit skeptical since I grew up in suburban New York and went to one of the highest rated schools in the entire country when I was a kid and I had heard that the quality of education in GA is not as good. Well, to my surprise, I actually think this school was better than the one I went to. My daughter finished well prepared for Middle School and I was amazed at how well they learned and how many truly great teachers and administration there were at that school.

Wonderful, caring staff. Students will be prepared for middle school. I was an involved parent at this school for 9 years. PTA is very strong. Great neighborhoods nearby.

Have really enjoyed this school and the teachers and staff who give their all everyday! Our Gym teacher just got Cobb County Gym Teacher of the Year! If you feed into Simpson Middle and Lassiter High, you have hit the jackpot! Great schools too!

Great school and friendly teachers! My daughter has been there 2 years now and she loves it.I wish they would offer more clubs/sports for free but besides that my daughter and I have been happy.

Excellent teachers, very friendly and helpful front office staff, superb and involved principal, very active PTA who ensure everyone is involved and communicated with if they want to be. Can't speak highly enough about the school. I have 2 children there and this is our 5th year in atttendance.

My granddaughter is the 3rd generation to attend Mt. View. It has certainly changed from my day (the dinosaurs are no longer a problem at recess) and from my daughters years - they have changed the buildings around. But my granddaughter is very happy and seems to get the support she needs.

I have had 3 children at this school, and I have mostly been unhappy with it. While my kids have had some really great teachers in the last six years, I have been extremely frustrated with the school's emphasis on fund-raising (booster-thon, ugghh!), the administration's focus on policy over what's best for students, and the general feeling that this school is stuck in the 1950s. I've overhead teachers speaking very unkindly to students on many occasions, my kids have spent countless hours doing useless homework (worksheets, etc.), teachers appear to quit engaging kids by mid-March to practice for the CRCT (that's another story!), and the school lunch is pathetic (why are they selling flaming hot cheetos?!). The front office staff is friendly & the PTA is very involved, but I'm a public school teacher & I know that Mtn. View could do a better job providing a creative, engaging, welcoming environment. IMPORTANT NOTE: this school is divided between three high schools, which affects the sense of community here. The majority of kids live in North Hampton Subdivision (Lassiter)... the Sprayberry & Pope students/parents often feel left out. Other nearby schools are kept together.
