We currently have a first grader at Davis and are thrilled by student support, quality of teaching, STEM program, and the overall school vibe. Parents have many opportunities to be involved, communication between admin/teachers is streamlined by the CTLS system. Above all, our kiddo LOVES SCHOOL. Thank you, David Elementary!!

My experience with Davis Elementary was nothing short of spectacular. The administrative staff, teachers, and all supporting staff created an enriching and safe environment for my children. The teachers at Davis Elementary foster classrooms that emphasize collaboration, curious learning, and positivity. They also offer extra help for the struggling students during the school year and summer months. Davis Elementary makes sure that all of their students and families feel welcome and give them a place to thrive. I am thankful my all children got to go through this school.

I have a 2nd grader at this school who started Kindergarten here in 2019. We love Davis! All of my daughter's teachers have been great and we have seen a lot of academic progress with her.

This is a great neighborhood school. The parents are very involved and the teachers, for the most part, are great. Our family has been especially impressed with the 2nd and 4th grade teams. The 4th grade advanced math program really challenged my oldest last year. The 5th grade advanced math program is ok, but we were hoping to have the same teacher as 4th. The Advanced Math Club has been going strong, even through the pandemic. Overall, this is a great school. I would definitely recommend it.

My two children started at Davis this year (Kindergarten & 2nd grade) in the middle of a pandemic. They never stepped foot inside the school prior to their first day face to face and began the year virtual with classmates and teachers who were strangers to them. From the minute we began at Davis, we felt like we were part of a family. Having transitioned from a private school that boasted that they taught a "year ahead." I was concerned particularly that my Kindergarten son would be bored. Nothing could be further from the truth. In Kindergarten, my son immediately began writing essays and strengthening his reading skills. The foundation he has been given for his future education has far surpassed my expectations! My daughter is in 2nd grade. She was recently diagnosed ADHD and is way behind in reading. Her teacher recognized first and foremost that her confidence was severely lacking and made boosting her confidence her number one priority. She obtained special permission from the school to tutor her every Monday morning before school. Only a few weeks in and my daughter (who I struggled with to write a word, let along a sentence) started writing stories and paragraphs! Her reading has improved tremendously as well. The Orton-Gillingham phonics approach to reading that has been adopted by the school's K-2nd grades REALLY works! Instilling this program shows the dedication Davis has to the success of each of its students individually. We thought we were doing something special for our children by sending them to private school. We were so wrong. Davis is where they belonged the entire time! Most importantly both of my children arrive at school and leave happy EVERY DAY!

Terrible experience at Davis. I transferred my kids here because the ratings seemed high and the neighborhood seemed nice. Totally deceived as my youngest child was bullied and my oldest was literally threatened by another parent. This school needs some attention as my youngest said her teacher would throw objects and scream often. Very disappointed in staff at this school. I had multiple issues with the nurse as well and no one seemed to actually care about my concerns.

Wonderful school! We love Davis. The principal is new to the school this year and is excellent. Teacher and staff are wonderful and my child is excelling academically. We love the smaller school size. Added bonus-great parent involvement and lots of ways to get involved in the school throughout the year.

Many teachers here are nice but in need of professional development. This school practices very outdated modes of discipline that were maybe practiced in the 1970's. School is also not progressive and communication with teachers is hit and miss. PTA seems to be active but is constantly asking for money and teacher gift cards. This practice has already been banned from other schools because it leads to too many conflicts of interests with parents trying to curry favor with teachers and vice versa. And there's way too much junk food at this school, every event involves cake and cookies - like preschool on steroids.

Our daughter is now fifth and final grade at Davis. Every year she had great teachers and mentors, not a word I would say against it. Many parents are envolved and help with PTA and other activities. She had achieved much more than we expected, love her teachers and administrative staff. As of first grade she was recognized for "Target" classes , with as immigrant we did not even know what is it about. Teachers are great to coach and mentor, but I think many parents expect teachers to do parenting job as well. You need definitely to be involved in your kid homework, projects Etc...just understand your kid is not the only one and everything will be just fine ... Hope we will have as great experience in Middle and high schools in this neighborhood.

We moved here several years ago to move to better schools. I, too, am very disappointed. We LOVE the teachers and the committed group of parents of the school, but the principal needs to retire. She allows laws pertaining to special educational matters to be blatantly broken and has a very lackadaisical approach to running the school. I don't know if breaking the law is a result of ignorance or self-righteousness. I know of many families that have elected to send their children to private school until she leaves. If you have a special needs child, be prepared to hire a lawyer!

This school does not seems to want Special Needs kids in the school. They do not do enough for the Special Needs kids. Very disappointed in Dr. Mobley's performance. She cares about test scores - not our children

Both my kids go to Davis and my oldest is in the fifth grade. She has been in Davis since Kindergarten. The administration is very good and the teachers are excellent. The PTA and foundation are quite active and supplement the enrichment of the children. I highly recommend Davis!

I'm very impressed with quality of teachers, caring environment and parent participation. Also, it is a smaller elementary school and creating a better community.

We have a student for 4th year now in Davis, Very good teacher /student rashio. Davis PTA and Davis foundation helped in reaching financial goals to support where cuts comes in school system.Excelent faculty/staff and very good correspondence with teachers in real time.It would be even greater if some parents would help their kids at home not just relay on teaching in school. Teachers are great assets and nothing but great words about all of them!!! Go Davis !!!

Do NOT send your child to this school! The administration is cold and has no idea how to lead. The teachers who care are bullied into bad decisions by the ones who are too lazy to do their jobs but have seniority. Even the after school activities are a joke. They only allow a few children in anything rather than making room for those who are interested. We chose our house because of the good ratings, what a mistake that was. We will be applying for school of choice or doing private next year. Our children are too valuable to be left in this school.

So disappointed in Dr. Mobley's performance. She cares about test scores - not our children. The teachers, on the other hand, are fabulous! Thank heavens for them.
