Amazing school! The administration is the most involved I have ever seen or even heard of...they care about kids and build positive relationships. As with all schools I have had an issue that I brought to the administrations attention, and it was handled promptly and I was happy. The building is clean, they focus on safety and communication, and this is the most inclusive school out there!!! Yes, can there be one student who is not, of course, but Kell celebrates all students and supports all activities! Dr. Giles and his team from admin, teachers, and clerical have made the last 4 years the best for my child!

It has taken me years to write this review. We have had two students graduate from Kell. One early… just to leave because of not wanting to deal with the school politics and one who was not quite there thanks to the ability to take dual enrollment courses. That’s the first issue. At the KSU DE meeting, Kell was the only Cobb school without a counselor there. That was a view into what was to come- complete lack of assistance from the guidance department with the DE students. Second issue, not all the fields at this school have been completed. While Cobb Co spends millions on “certain” schools, Kell remains unfinished. No running water or bathrooms on some fields and a track that has no seating, bathroom, water etc… leaving it without a home meet option. However, the worst issue is the administration. Even when they have a blatant issue in front of them, they ignore it. This school has an issue with racism, homophobia and dishonest teaching staff. Bottom tier school… chose wisely… move elsewhere.

We have two children at Kell and have had great experiences. The teachers are accessible, hold the kids accountable and seem to care. The academics have been challenging, and my kids adore the marching band experience and band experience. We plan to do some dual enrollment classes soon. The campus is safe, and the buildings are in great condition. Very happy with the leadership on the whole.

They do not support academic growth with students. If your child is stuck in a class below their skill level, they will keep them there and not work with the parent to move them up. The staff is rude from the school counselors to the principals who never respond.

kell high school is a nightmare, specially for special education

I feel like the ratings for Kell are not really representative of what happens here. This is a great school and I can't say enough about how the teachers have continued to engage my high school student during the pandemic, even as she did 100% remote learning for the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Giles has been exactly what the Kell community needed and I feel like as things get back to normal education, Kell is poised to really take off since his first year as principal was marked by the start of the pandemic. The administration is fully engaged and active and concerned about making Kell the center of our community.

I have had 2 children already graduate from Kell and my youngest is there now. The energy and sense of community is the best it has been in the years we have been there. Dr. Giles and his team are positive, excited and effective! They are truly out to make Kell the best school possible.

Great change to the school this year! Dr. Giles has brought back school spirit, community, and pride to the school. Teachers and students feel valued again! Proud to live here and have my students go there. Don't believe any previous bad comments about the school. It has all changed now!

My son missed 49 days of school last year. And they still passed him. I think they just push kids though.he lives with his mom who won't make him go and I'm not allowed to help.

My son is about to start his senior year at Kell. We are very pleased with the teachers and administration, some whom are way over qualified to be working at the high school level. Classes are small and the teachers care about student needs. There is a lot of diversity at this school, both racially and socioeconomically, but the students seem to all be one happy family. The AP classes are top notch. We know of several kids who passed on their magnet school acceptance so that they could enroll in Kell AP classes instead. Overall, it's a great place to learn!

students can excel and athletics are very good. The principal has improved this school in so many ways the past 3 years. Cliques are not an issue.

Our experience with Kell has been amazing! One of my children graduated from Kell a few years ago and I have two more children attending now. The education is top notch, the faculty is amazingly helpful and on task, the school is well organized and kept very clean! The guidance counselors have been amazing with planning and helping execute our childrens success in reaching college goals. We moved to this area specifically for Kell because of the fantastic athletic programs, the academics, the extracurricular opportunities offered and the great family environment. Our girls and boys lacrosse coaches have been outstanding role models. We couldn't be happier with the overall experience at Kell and glad we made the move.

Kell is one of the best schools in Cobb County! My son is a freshman coming to Kell and we are pleased with the school. The academics are challenging but not overwhelming. The teachers go above and beyond to help you get the grades you want and honestly want to see you succeed. The extracurricular activities are everywhere! Great programs! If your ready to work hard and make your four years count, Kell is the place to be... Strongly recommended!!!

Fantastic school, beautifully maintained, caring staff and teachers... The Athletics programs are great and there is a lot of school pride among the student body. The Marching Band and Guard programs are awesome and the band leadership is top-notch!

It's OK. Nice facility because it's fairly new. Not a ton of discipline/student behavior problems. Athletics are above average. Academically it's mediocre. If your kid is a high achiever consider one of the Cobb County magnet schools. All of them are a step above Kell for academics. I have one kid here and one in a magnet school and there is a big difference... not so much in the quality of the teachers but more in the level of expectations of the students from the administration, teachers, and each other.

We transferred from out of state several months ago. Our son is in 9th grade and has been very happy at Kell. The staff in the guidance office went above and beyond to make this transition a smooth one. This is a great school! The school itself is beautiful and well kept. Highly recommend Kell!
