Moved to this school for its great reputation and I have never been more disappointed. If we were aware of the Open Concept Classroom, we would have Never bought a house in this area. The progress they use as a “report card” does not reflect my child’s ability level and has left my child in tears for the first three quarters as the staff has stated 2s and 3s are what you get to show progress. This grade is given even when my child receives nothing but 4s on all assessments for each quarter. When asked, school staff has stated they grade the quarter based on the required end of year standards…meaning they are not being graded on work that was completed for that quarter. All categories are generalized on the progress report so you don’t know what your child is actually being graded against.I have had better experiences in other districts. If any of your children need any kind of Special education services or if they are gifted….their needs will not be met. This district refuses to provide services in a timely matter as they prefer to “hope and see” what becomes of it.For the gifted kids, don’t expect any differentiated instruction to challenge as they won’t receive it.

We are only only in the area for 1 year but bought a house just to get our child in what was rated as the best school in the greater Syracuse area. This is far from it. Biggest waste of money. We had a substitute for the 1st 3 months that apparently did not do half of what should have been done. The fuller time teacher doesn’t communicate or follow up. Most recent told the teacher watched our child fail for 30 minutes. Not sure why they would allow that time, or at least give some guidance. The report card blindsided us as it was completely different from how the parent teacher conference went. And even then during that time, we kept scratching our heads as items they claimed our kid did not know, they had pretty much mastered. Knowing multiple teachers, and discussing many of the practices done here, all of them were also confused by much of it as they said many key components are being left out, and certain thing would cause confusion for many kids. I couldn’t strongly enough recommend against this school.

This school is excellent!! They put an emphasis on the whole child; fostering a sense of community among the students, parents, and faculty. I would highly recommend this school!!

So far the best school we’ve had the privilege of having our kids attend. The staff is amazing, the school is clean, well organized, and keeps our children engaged all day. Our 3 children actually look forward to going to school each day. That right there is a huge win! I’m confident that Enders Road is setting our children up for future academic success while still fostering what it means to be a productive, and respectful citizen.

Both of our children attended Enders Road and had wonderful experiences here. The teachers are warm and caring, and the administration does its best to support students, faculty and parents. If your children love arts and sports in addition to academics, this is the school to be in. There is a great emphasis on bringing out the best in each child. What you need to remember though is that no school can be effective without strong parental support. We found that volunteering gave us an opportunity to really get to know the people who taught our children -- and we really built great relationships in and outside the school walls.

We have only lived in NY a short time, but we chose our house based on this school district and we haven't been disappointed at all. Our oldest child has gone to 3 different elementary schools in 3 different states and Enders Road is leaps and bounds above the other schools she's attended. Both our 3rd grader and kindergartner have told us how much they like this school over their last one. The teachers they have are responsive and engaging. I have particularly been impressed with my son's kindergarten teacher. He is learning all of the basics (reading, writing, math, etc), but she's also putting a huge emphasis on how to be a good human. Last month they concentrated on being responsible. This month they are concentrating on learning how to compromise. These things were unheard of in the other schools my kids have attended. His teacher even offered to have a private lunch with my son to go over something with him that he had missed out since we hadn't moved to NY yet. The music, library, gym, art and computer lab programs they have for the kids of all ages are top notch. I cannot recommend this school highly enough. I would give it 10 stars if it was possible!

Enders Road School has a remarkable environment for our children to learn and grow as responsible citizens. My grandson is in the fourth grade there and he is so happy with his school and teacher who he respects so much. His report card say it all; he has achieved many "4's" and the praises from his teacher has made us all so proud. In addition to the academics, the concerts Enders Road Elementary School puts on are terrific. His aunt is a music teacher from Western New York and was so impressed with the harmony in the fourth grade chorus. She said that harmony isn't introduced usually until fifth grade. The children love their music and it is so evident watching them perform with their big smiles. I am grateful to Enders Road Elementary School for the quality of education and the determination of the school/faculty to provide a great learning environment.

I would avoid this elementary if you have gifted children- they have a 'one size fits all' mentality, and are not flexible or open to meeting the needs of children who don't fit their curriculum. There are some fantastic teachers who were able to provide some in-class differentiation, but there were some who did not. Admin. have a 'no acceleration' policy, have very limited (few weeks/year) math differentiation. They have a good enrichment program butit is very limited in scope (1 1/2 hrs/week, not all year) and not very selective. There is a heavy emphasis on state test prep, and in some classes a culture of bullying, materialism. Good parental involvement, lots of after-school opportunities for sports, a few for academics. Great music program, though limited to string instruments and fourth graders.
