It’s all a joke.. you can’t get respect if you don’t receive respect child or not.. class is so loud and teachers have no control I cannot wait to get my children out of this school.. and the football couch basically choses who he likes and that’s all there is to it

the staff don't do their job! the teacher barely teach, the counselors don't help with bullies, and the nurses just assume you're lying and send you back to class, and the special ed teachers are mean!

I hear only great things about Howard MIddle School from the parents who have children both at Howard and at our elementary school. The students who attended our elementary and now go to Howard Middle School are happily engaged in learning and continue to excel! Howard Middle School students return to perform concerts at our school, return to tutor our students, participate and excel in sports and technology, and communicate their liking and enjoyment of learning at school. We continue to follow or former students and observe their progression. As far as negative situations that occur at all schools, I feel strongly that students need the opportunity to develop grit, curiosity, and determination especially when confronted with situations that make them uncomfortable. We can't shelter students from problem solving, but as a community support them through their maturation.

This is my daughters first year in middle school and we were very unsure if we were staying in public school or going the private school route. We were encouraged by parents of current students to come and shadow and we are so glad we did. The new administration is awesome! They are readily available and engaging. They listen and have strong ties to the community and WANT to make HMS the best school in the area by building a strong sense of community and safe, positive and productive environment for our kids to learn. Have there been bumps in the road, of course, no school is perfect whether you are paying for it or not but the way the situation is handled and how you learn from it is what is important. We need to set good examples for our children. If we are positive and actively supporting and involved with the schools they will see our involvement and how our community is important to us. Come see the correct people are in place to make this the school to send your kids to. If you are already at the school PLEASE get involved. Join PTC, volunteer, come to activities at the school, get to know the teachers and other parents. You will not be disappointed!

My daughter attended HMS and loved it! She has great teachers that were interested in her as an individual. Teachers were easily accessible by email. School is newer and the facilities are clean and beautiful.

I love howard middle. My son was in 6th grade. He was in the gifted class. He was also in the academic team. I have no complains. It is a great School.I regret moving to Atlanta. The schools are horrible.

Howard Middle school , Macon My daughter goes to this school. The staff has been nothing shoprt of supportive during the adoption process of my child. She comes home from school excited and ready to tackle homework. She even gets up early to get ready for school. I would recommend this school to anyone that needs a middle school.

Our family has been extremely please with the programs and opportunities at Howard Middle School. There are problems in the administration that needs to be dealt with. I think as soon as those are resolved, then things will improve beyond our imaginations.

Pretty bricks & mortar mask the ugliness inside this school. Though I have been impressed with the teachers, the majority of students here are not reflective of the citizens in this area. Where did these people come from? Looks like an inner city school in the pretty countryside. So many families send their children to private schools here, I suppose the county filled the remaining seats with leftovers from other schools. Maybe 5-10% parental involvement. Can't wait to move!

Howard Middle School is becoming one of Bibb counties worst schools. My child went there for a few days and she cried everyday when she got home. I asked my daughter why didnt she like it and she said, in her exact word "Momma they are just so ghetto." She felt like she would have to become a trouble maker to make friends. The kids lack discipline and respect and the teachers dont earn the respect. They allow the kids to act how they want. The kids curse out the teachers and no one takes any disciplinary actions. This is a poor excuse of what our tax paying dollars are used for. Maybe these schools should start focusing on education and behavior rather than dress code.

I didn't like this school at all. I went to Howard Middle School for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and it was awful. It made my life suck. It broke my heart and i felt like there was a magical force field that took away all of my happiness. The principle is to nice and a push over but worried more about our hair styles and clothes and if you want to survive as a student in this school then you better be in gifted classes. The gifted students never get into trouble no matter what they did or do. They could bully and not get in trouble at all. There were also plenty of un-smart students in these classes. If you want your child to live a successful and happy I REPEAT HAPPY life then DON'T send them to Howard Middle School.

My child goes to Howard Middle School and all I am going to say is the teachers are not good teachers. And the staff total is not committed to keeping your child safe.......

This is my first year attending Howard Middle School. I come from a very different school in another state. I am in eight grade and absolutely hate the school. My previous school had excellent teachers and challenging work, much unlike Howard. I was put in the gifted program here, and it still was not challenging (the teachers weren't much better either). The students have no respect for the teachers and the teachers don't discipline them for their horrifying behavior. I have been to many different schools and this is, by far, the worst. If you are a parent who's looking to move to this area, I suggest you save enough money to send your child to private school or be ready to home-school them, because they will most likely be just as dissatisfied as I am. If this is one the better schools in Bibb County, it doesn't say much.

I know longer attend Howard Middle School. I went in my 6th grade year, and hated it. I was in the gifted program too! I now go to a private school here in Macon, and love it! Parents, do not send your child to HMS! The principal is horrible, and so is the discipline!
