We bought our house in this district specifically for this school! Our son went here from Pre-K through 5th grade, and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I loved it so much as a parent that I have now been teaching there for the last three years. The staff is friendly and responsive, the school is clean, and has a positive atmosphere.

If I could give this school a 0 I would. My autistic daughter attended school here for kindergarten and had a wonderful teacher. That being said that is where the wonderful ended, my daughter was being bullied by another older student and since she is autistic I didn't find out until another parent told me. And the bullying didn't stop at name calling it was to the point the boy told her to pull her pants down and she did. I went to the office and was ignored. I asked for cameras and told there would be an investigation, surprise nothing was done. I immediately withdrew my daughter from the school for lack of concern with safety. This school does not care.

The school does not allow for recess periods regularly for the children, the teachers are disgruntled, the staff members of the office promote a negative environment by making negative comments about children. These teachers are overwhelmed and unsupported. Unfortunately, this reflects in the way that they treat the children. For example, a teacher told a third grader that she would see him next year in third grade after taking a State test. Derogatory comments like this almost seem to be a philosophy of the school. I believe that there really should be a no tolerance for unacceptable behaviors from students with positive reinforcement. I think it is sad that often single students suffer because their classmates do not follow the rules; I feel that this reinforces the idea that there is no reward for good behavior. There is a laundry list of opportunities for this school. There are no after school programs. I am uncertain why mandarin would even be a focus for the children when there is little focus on core subjects like science and mathematics. I would be cheating my child if I left her there!

I have always found this school to be very welcoming. Administration is always visible (they even stand out in the heat during dismissal). Both Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Sadler love the students and take a lot of time getting to know each of them. I feel like my children are safe and are receiving a good education.
