Think this used to be a good school seems to have different administration and not as good as once was.

From my experience, you have a 50/50 chance of encountering a teacher that actually cares about their students and want them to progress. It seems majority of the teachers at this school are disciplinaries and less focus on the children who are actually advanced and respectful. The teachers that are great don't stay at this school for long or end up getting burnt out. The school works for the location however, if I had better options , I would definintly be seeking those options instead of choosing this school.

I thought Springdale would be a great school since it had better ratings than other schools in the area. My son went there for 1st grade and the teacher seemed to not want to put forth effort. My son has ADHD. He’s on medication that keeps it controlled, but he will get really frustrated with his work and wants to give up. The teacher would let him! She never made him pay attention or do what everyone else was doing. She let him do whatever he wanted. He’s very very ridiculously smart, but that doesn’t give him the right to just do whatever. We’d ask the teacher why he wasn’t doing the same thing as everyone else and then that’s when she would complain about them. Not beforehand so would could deal with it. We wouldn’t find out anything until we made her do a conference. It was very frustrating. I did notice that the teachers spend a ton of time on their cell phones instead of watching the kids.

I believe Everyone is trying to adjust to the new “normal” due to Covid19. While there have been some hiccups with communication and getting assignments completed, the teachers are doing what they can to set the students up for success in the coming year. Our kids, 3rd and Kinder, are so happy to be back in school. They love their teachers and are learning and growing.

It's really the best experience I've had.

My daughter attends Springdale Elementary as a Kindergartener. I absolutely love her teacher- Mrs. Gammons! She really knows how to deal with the kids and she is very open and available to the parents.I know exactly what to expect and what she is learning and what her goals are. The assistant principal is AWESOME!! She knows the kids, she handles situations and means business. If you walk in the front door you will be greeted. Her customer service is great and she is more than helpful with the children! I could not have asked for a better assistant principal. The only complaint that I have is the front office at pick up times. My aunt waited in the carpool line, on 2 different occasions, and instead of the staff helping her she waited outside for 20 minutes. Then went inside and waited another 20 minutes. However, when the problem was handled by Ms. Hamlin she approached it appropriately.

Springdale Elementary is an overall wonderful school! I attended Springdale from 2nd-5th grade, and I am now in 7th grade at Mount de Sales Academy. However, my younger sister who is in the 3rd grade is having a hard time adjusting to having to switch classes. I don't think they should start switching classes until 5th grade. The best teachers are Mrs. Gilbert (retired) and Ms. Mason in the 4th grade!

I've had two students matriculate through Springdale and have loved every minute. They know their stuff and are now taking gifted and AP classes in the middle and high school. Great teachers. Great parental involvement. Thanks Springdale - we'll miss you.

I question the validity of the March 23, 2011 post. All testing situations are closely monitored, teachers do not test their own class, and proctors are obligated to report any irregularities. I guarantee the students are TOP priority.

Overrated! Horrible teaching and little to no concern for the students. My son told me during tests, they tell the students what answer to put down.
