Grayson High School is truly exceptional, offering a supportive and well-rounded environment for students. As both a former student and now a parent with children attending the school, I’ve seen firsthand how it continues to excel. The sports programs are top-notch, consistently ranked among the best in the district, and the school provides excellent resources to ensure every student thrives both academically and personally. The commitment to maintaining a positive atmosphere and clean facilities also stands out. This school was not very good according to my experience. I am a very shy student and I did not feel welcomed since the other students were mean. I also did not like how some teachers played favorites and even will be friends with the student. The students were also talking a lot about sports and for a person who knows nothing or cares for sports, it was easy to feel like an outsider. I also dislike the administration because I feel that they are too obsessed with the dress code and not addressing more important problems like students vaping in the bathroom or fighting. There were teachers once in a while who would supervise the bathrooms but it should be more common. I am now too scared to use the bathroom due to the fights and vaping problem. The profanity in the school is way too much. I hear many students swear so much and even use slurs. Some teachers will also use profanity once in a while or ignore the students that use profanity. Some students will also skip class and even students that join class, tend to sleep in class and some teachers don't do anything about it. One other advice is to watch for your stuff because there are some students who will steal snacks and even money while you are not looking. The cafeteria food not only tastes bad but is also unhealthy too. The school milk actually turned my stomach so definitely don't drink the school milk since some of the milk expired on dates before the current day they are in the cafeteria.

I have 2 daughters who attend Grayson High School. The faculty and staff are all very supportive and the leadership is very helpful and engaged. The mix of athletics and academics is unmatched in Gwinnett County. We love the neighborhood and community of Grayson.

Most Teachers are very nice and have a good learning environment. But there are many cons that most students hate about this school. Ever since we've had a new principal, the school has gotten way worse and out of control. Many fights break out often such as every 1 week. Including fights with such weapons. The people here also never pay attention to their classes anymore. Some of my teachers rarely even teach anymore and expect us to learn just by giving us work. I've never hated going to school ever since they changed their ways this year. Such a disappointment.

I always thought that high school would be difficult for my son, but I love this school, daily I ask my son and he is happy there

Don't let your child do football here. The head coach tells parents that he won't discuss playing time with your children. If you complain about anything your child is punished. They won't play at all. The Assistant Principal tells you he hired the Coach to win games. He doesn't care how not touching the field at all affects these boys as long as they win. They will use the same boys over and over again until they get hurt. Once they come back he doesn't use them again unless they were one of his star players. You can't meet with position coaches. They charge $1200 for program. And don't even let your child get safe equipment. All his Coaches left last year wonder why. They want yes sir folks. They don't develop players. He would be exposed if he didn't have great athletes already. He talks down to the boys. They're only one team when they have to do up and downs. He divides them up all the time. It's a lot of racial issues at this school. It won't never change. Run!!

My son is a 10th grader, we transferred from South Gwinnett. I can honestly say that he was really behind when he arrived. The teachers and counselors at Grayson were excellent. He was provided all available resources to help him catch up and maintain a B grade. I cant thank Grayson enough.

I have a son that is currently a freshman and we absolutely love this school! I am extremely pleased with the JROTC program and the path that they are working on with my son. He takes great pride in attending Grayson and has requested to finish his high school career @ Grayson High School.

This is our first year at GHS...my daughter is a freshman. A few things that I dislike: the school is HUGE, very crowded halls, big classes, approximately 650 students in cafeteria during each lunch period, lots of trailers in back. My daughter's gifted classes have up to 35 kids in there, her AP class has what seems like 40! Things that I like: my daughter has some fabulous teachers (a couple are just average), the APs work really hard to keep all the kids in line, the school seems to be very clean or at least the areas I've seen. I'm not overly impressed with GHS so far, but to be a large metro public high school it's about what one would expect. I do feel from talking with other parents of older students the school has declined some in recent years.

We moved to Georgia last year. So far, I'm moderately impressed with Grayson HS. My child was lucky to find four very dedicated teachers last year, however, it seems like we've encountered either excellent or poor teachers with not a lot falling in the middle. The math dept. seems to have more than its fair share of teachers who are not well-trained in thier subject. One teacher in the foreign language dept. actually "helped" the students by hinting at answers while they were taking a final. Students might have scored well, but what did they learn? On the positive side, I am pleased that there is a zero tolerance for bullying and poor behavior.

I have two children at Grayson, a freshman and a senior. My daughter is an excellent student and is the top 5% of her class. The school has had 4 months since she was accepted to an internship, but still does not know where they are going place her. They are also dropping classes that focus on science (i.e. biotechnology and AP chemistry). Please don t get me started on the uniformed counselors who only seem interested in the path that requires the least amount of work. My son just started and all is not well. There are 35 students in his gifted math class! His teacher in his foreign language class has no classroom management skills so students play their ipods on deaf and sleep during class. A major irritant is that although he has no handicap tag, the principal always parks his huge truck in the handicapped spaces. I feel that Grayson has declined with each year. I would no longer recommend this school.
