I am loving this school and the teachers and also the Principal involvement in everything. My daughter loves to go to the school and always excited about it.

Since the start of this school year nothing problems have occurred. On day one my daughter was misplaced and sent on an alternate route home instead of car pool which was specified by me and confirmed by her teacher prior to the first day of school. The incident was brushed off by her teacher and the administration as a whole. My day reports that sometimes she’s not taught her lessons because her teachers become overwhelmed by the kids talking that they spend more time disciplining that teaching. But perhaps the most disturbing is the frequent threats by students to bring weapons to school to harm other children. The principal only reveals it the day after it occurs via email and states the child was disciplined but never that the child was expelled! This is unacceptable. School just started in August and it’s only September and all these problems have occurred. If I could pull my daughter out and place her in private school I would and in fact we are actively looking for other schools. This is a horrible school. My daughter had fallen behind in her academics. She was once a straight A student and now making C’s at times because she’s not being taught properly.

My son has an IEP. They stopped giving him therapy services, isolated his class in the classroom, did not allow them to go to the library or the lunch room. The AP is nasty and if you ask her anything or try to get information regarding your child, she gets irritated. They also moved my son to a new classroom with new teachers without telling us and when I went to pick him up early to go to private therapy, they didn't know where he was and it took over an hour for them to figure it out.

As a parent of two children, one in 4th grade and the other in 5th grade, I can wholeheartedly say that this school has exceeded our expectations.First and foremost, the enthusiasm my children have for learning since they started attending Starling Elementary is truly inspiring. They come home every day with stories of exciting lessons, engaging projects, and a genuine love for their teachers. It's evident that the educators at this school go above and beyond to make learning a fun and meaningful experience.Safety and a nurturing environment are paramount to me as a parent, and I feel confident that my children are in good hands at Starling Elementary. The staff is not only professional but also genuinely caring. It's heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces when they arrive at school each morning. The school organizes numerous events and opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's education. The sense of community is strong, and I appreciate the support and camaraderie among parents, teachers, and students.Lastly, I want to commend the impressive leadership provided by the principal and assistant principals. Their dedication to creating a positive and conducive learning environment is palpable. They are approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in the success of every student.

The 2017-2018 school year has been a negative experience. I do not feel as though the children in the class are all treated the same. In addition there has been bullying and inappropriate content from students that has not been dealt with. When speaking with the AP I am assured that things are happening every time however the same behavior is still ongoing eight months later

We have had a great experience with Starling! The entire staff is very helpful and always friendly. I have seen a huge difference from a previous elementary school where my daughter attended previously.

Couldnt ask for more. Diversity, Hospitality, Friendly. We moved from another 10 star elementary school in Gwinnett and Starling Elem. is perfect. The teachers really care for the students, communication between parent and teacher is excellent. When there is an issue the teachers make sure to resolve the issue. Drop off and pick up is so smooth. Best of all, the front receptionist is ALWAYS FRIENDLY! At our previous school, I felt that the receptionist was always annoyed and hated her job. I am so glad we made the move to this new school district! I have a kinder and a 5th grader. Both classes and teachers are great! Mrs. Gilford and Mrs. Lowe.

I am so disgusted with the way the Administration handles minority children! My children will not be returning next year!

This is our first year in Gwinnett County and first year at Starling. The school keeps parents very informed through weekly newsletters, emails, text, etc. My daughter is now going to 2nd grade. Her first grade teacher was new to Starling and did a great job. If any bumps occurred, she took accountability and was quick to resolve. There's great parent participation throughout the school, lunch & learns for parents and more. The rating should definitely be higher.

Starling is a great elementary school, don't let the rating fool you. It was ranked #1 in the Grayson Elementary cluster and #17 out of all elementary schools in Gwinnett County.

Good solid education. Only one bad teacher experience but good response to corrective action. PTA is awesome.
