This school is a world-class school! It has so many strong teachers PreK-5 and administrators that foster high expectations, classroom community, relationships and are rooted in love. As you walk through the building you see and feel the strong school culture. I’ve been in teaching/education for 21 years and this school is one of the great ones!

Overall, Pharr Elementary administration seems to work together to push the school forward. The principal is very present and involved in what the school does in and off site. The assistant principals always seem very focused, efficient and driven on making sure activities, programs , parents and students needs are met. My experience with teachers has been good. When I experienced challenges or had concerns, the administrators and teachers have been responsive to my request, concerns or needs.

My son is pushed to achieve and explore new things. They also assist me with making special learning accommodations for his needs.

DON’T CARE/ IN IT FOR A PAYCHECK My child’s teacher is bitter, untrustworthy and heartless. She’s very vain, she believes that she’s above the parents. She destroyed my child’s assignments. She hides the necessary tools to do the work. I asked about all of these things. Not only did she get defensive and lied, she insinuated that my child’s was incapable of learning. My child’s complained how she refused to help him like she does the other students. Clearly she have no desire to teach only belittle and intimidate my child. Student deserves a teacher that will push and believe in them and that cares about their future.

I moved from Anderson-Livsey district to attend Pharr, and now, the same issue traveled. Charlotte Martin is such a negative person. She bullies teachers and is not professional.

Love the teachers and the whole staff. I wish they would upgrade the playgrounds though

Pharr has been "average" for the past 3 years my child attended. We have had a great teacher, an awful teacher and a very green teacher. Each year we have had issues, however they have been addressed and resolved by the principle and vice principles. It is nice to feel that they listen to and address concerns. One thing that aggravates me is the CONSTANT fundraisers. It feels like every week there is a different reason I must donate. Although they are all good causes, my child feels guilty and gets very upset if I can't afford to donate every time. We aren't even half way through the year and I m already $170 out of pocket for fundraisers alone!

My children attended Pharr Elementary and received an excellent education. Excellent teachers, staff, counselors and administration! Arts, Drama and Music were important elements of their education as well as the Media Center. Not only were they involved with everything that they could be but also had a lot of fun!

Pharr Elementary has fallen from great to good over the last three years. The biggest changes are driven by the principal brought in September 2012, as she has tried to put her mark on the school by realigning teachers, and changing the atmosphere in the school. The principals' management style is cold, authoritative and has alienated teachers, staff and parents alike. The staff that made the school great have retired, transfered or asked to leave. The characteristics that made Pharr exceptional are being lost as can be seen when comparing the Gwinnett County School Accountability Reports over the last three years. Pharr's overall score has fallen to a 6 from a 9.

This is one of the best schools in Gwinnett County. My child has learned so many new things because the teachers step outside of the box. Her art teacher is one of the best I've seen. She is learning about various forms of art native to the individual 9 continents of the world. She gets excited about going to school, her teachers, her friends, her grades and about being a part of Pharr. She is a 5th grader and currently on the Yearbook Committee and she absolutely loves it! She just gave the announcements last week and enjoyed that privilege as well. The teachers and staff at Pharr go above and and beyond to make learning fun and exciting, yet essential and meaningful at the same time!

No, this is NOT A good school. If you want your children to have stress, no recess, and low self esteem; send them otherwise...... The staff cares only for itself. They all band together, protect their own. They are OVER worked and not cared about. Plus, the workload is so massive, they do not learn any better. Their previous Title 1 school was light years superior!
