This school has a leadership problem. Visiting for lunch or volunteering, it is embarrassing the way to staff and teachers talk to the students. Very condescending and demeaning. Seems like a group of militant power-hungry nobodies who went in to education to control and boss those they have authority over. The communication from staff and teachers is always unorganized and last-minute. Emails have a bunch of third party links and it’s a literal scavenger hunt to get the information you need. Gifted and Talented teachers do not communicate with the parents whatsoever. The principal is awful….in her demeanor, attitude, and involvement. Instead she’s delegated her staff as henchmen to micromanage every single movement of the students and parents. Praying Texas passes school choice so we are not mandated to attend much longer for our child’s education.

I've had my son in Bill Burden Elementary for the first half of 1st grade, and I'm honestly significantly disappointed. I had thought Liberty Hill ISD had a positive reputation for effective teaching and creativity, but this is not the situation. Unfortunately, my son's first grade teacher simply throws paperwork in front of him with little guidance and a cold attitude. Perhaps this year is a wash because of covid or his teacher's approach to learning. Nonetheless, I feel as if this past four months were a complete waste of time in my son's development. After a conference call with my son's first grade teacher following a vacation, she insinuated several times that my son is the issue and not her. I highly recommend any other option than having your child in Bill Burden Elementary and I'm seriously questioning the merits of Liberty Hill ISD.

School seems pretty good, but the leadership can ruin the atmosphere.

LOVE! Contemplated moving to a different home but it was outside of the Bill Burden school zone. We'll stay put - at least until Intermediate school. :-)

Horrible school for any child with learning disabilities. Horrible district for children needing accommodation.

This district has high ratings, but our experience has been very poor. I agree with the last comment. The teachers are not equipped to handle the influx of students. There is minimal communication. My child is very unhappy here. He will not finish out the year at this school.

Moved here from Leander, based on their ratings. Worst MISTAKE!! My child has to change teachers because they didn't hire enough staff over the summer. 6:30 AM bus pick up. 3 hours of standing in line to enroll, after doing in online. I don't know how they got such a good rating when Leander out does them by leaps and bounds. This is the worst experience for my children, they hate it here. Office staff is nice here, but not at any of the other schools. Wish I would have known before moving here.

I have had a son that go Bill Burden Elementary and have been very pleased. He seemed to thrive at the school and is doing well academically. I really like the fact that has performing arts, music and PE as part of the daily curriculum, especially because we came from California and they didn't have over there. The teachers are caring, fun and seem to truly enjoy their jobs. Most of the parents help being volunteers in the school events and daily activities. My son loves going here. I highly recommend this school!!!

I moved here for the great schools, but was left disappointed with this school. Every single time I visit for lunch or volunteer on campus, the staff are yelling at the students, even when kids are doing exactly what they were asked to do. I think it's way too militaristic the way they treat the children. Granted, we have had a few AMAZING teachers here...but there seems to be a general problem with staff/student interactions. They may have high test scores here, but that's not the end goal for me- I want kids who love to learn, not just kids who can memorize testing strategies. I'm also really disappointed with the severe lack of enrichment activities- art and music class are only once a week, and there are no after-school clubs or activities to participate in. I've volunteered several times to run different clubs for the school, with zero response. I think this campus really could improve in this area.

Great vice principle and teachers. Principle is not the warmest person but she does with the wonderful help of her great vice principle to keep the school above average compared to LH elem and intermediate school
