I’ve been at delta all three years (currently in 8th grade) and it’s a pretty good school, the dress code is average (no spaghetti straps, no revealing clothing, no hats etc) and the education aspect is fine, my only issues are the (optional) school fundraisers are pretty pricey ($20 to bring your phone to school but you can’t play games, text, call, or take photos) and the language that majority of students use is very unfriendly, which of course isn’t in the school’s control but it is something parents should be aware of. Overall, the staff are helpful and it’s a good school with nice teachers.

We moved here from another state, so my daughter only attended Delta Woods during the 8th grade school year 2014-2015. She enjoyed attending Delta Woods because she had teachers (she will miss) and met friends that challenged her and made her want to engage in activities that took her out of her comfort zone. She was able to be herself and express herself that allowed personal growth. She joined and competed in Track & Field which surprised me and made me proud. From a parent point of view, the other parents were not warm and welcoming, but neither did they step in my way, which was OK by me.

Today is my twin daughters last day of 6th grade and first year in middle school. They've met and bonded with new friends and their new "favorite" teachers. They have even bonded with the great nurse there. We are new to the district and Delta Woods is a great school, and was an awesome experience. The girl said they had an awesome school year. They are looking forward to next year!

When it comes to the Blue Springs School District this district is lacking in sportsmanship leadership. The academic part of the school is excellent, but the sports are taken way to serious for eighth grade students. The principal all the way up to the athletic director of the district are oblivious to what happens within the school and seem to go along with what ever is said by the coaches, regardless of the complaint. If you are a minority beware of coming to this school district and receiving a fair outcome on any level in relation to sports or other matters. There are a lot of good outside leagues that may be better for your child than this school has to offer so I would highly suggest you take a look at those before committing to the school team of this school and expecting fair treatment. I won't get into specifics, but I am thoroughly disappointed in the structure this district has when it comes to "children's" sports and view it as teaching them independence and having to choose between outside sports and school sports when it should all be in fun at this age any way. This school is great for education, but not great when it comes to change and acceptance of minorities.

We moved to Delta Woods school district from a different district. Great school my daughter went from basic learning to advanced and even her grades improved immediately. I was very impressed it was as if she went to private school. Now I have another daughter who will be attending Delta Woods and I have no worries very impressed.
