I have a now 31 year old who graduated High School due to being in trouble. I have a 28 year old who attended as well in an accelerated program. Many years later have a son attending there. This school has saved us. He is an honors student who’s struggled with his virtual learning. It’s NOT just for troubled children. The entire staff is above and beyond and the ladies in the office are so kind and helpful. After his recovery he can go back to his home school. They really do a great job on making sure each child is getting the education they need to graduate. My kids would not gotten their education if the district did not have this program in place. They even have an officer and a social worker on site. I highly recommend this school.

Most Impressive Staff: Safety Officer Martin Steele is an undeniable Gold Standard for lawmen. He was intentionally polite, intuitive, empathetic and professional while being a perfect example of how police can be an asset in a school environment. Communication with other staff who reached out to student’s family were also exemplary. While there are trouble makers at every school, our student was nurtured and graduated from BSSD merely because student learns differently. College is not for everyone and our student was blessed to be fond of and benefited from leaning a bankable skill through BSSD. We are very pleased with our experience.

Never send your student here, Valley View is the alternative school for students who are trouble makers in the Blue Springs School District. They do have more individualist approaches to those students who can't learn in standardized learning environments. Because they make exceptions and it is individualist, it does not prepare students for college.
