Community is found at Anona. This school is tradition. Our girls love it there. They learn, both socially and academically, the aspects needed for success. Teachers, Prinicpal Management and the staff are committed to working as well as the can and they prove to be successful. A solid 'A 'school. Communicate with the school, get involved and show interest and your child will excel.

A wonderful school and community. Teachers are engaged, caring, and talented. Parent involvement is welcomed. Highly Recommend!

I have a real issue with a school that does not communicate with a child's non custodial parent. This was after showing up in person at the school to explain the situation. We did not find out our child repeated a grade until after it happened. Clearly the school assumes the custodial parent communicated which she did not. Second what school does not check for lice or follow up on report of child having lice? Very irresponsible of this school.

My child just finished first grade at Anona. He has had wonderful teachers both years, and has really developed a love of learning. However, the new principal, Gaye Lively, does NOT impress. She is very corporate and not fun. She should be working in an office for an insurance company or something similar, not at an elementary school! I heard her complaining after a recent kindergarten orientation that not enough people came. Well, if there was ANY communication from the school about upcoming events, maybe people would come to them! Also, there is NO recess after K. What a shame for little kids to have to focus all day long. This is not the school's fault, but there is minimal parental involvement (I often felt that teachers didn't know what to do with me during my frequent volunteering). I so wanted to love this school, but some little issues plus the bad new principal have me looking elsewhere. Hopefully she will earn to respond to concerned parents and be more positive in the future so more good families don't leave.

I was a first grade teacher at Anona for three years. It is a wonderful school. The faculty, and families are amazing. I was truly blessed to have had the opportunity to start my teaching career at Anona.
