Patterson International stands out from all other Jeffco schools. Other schools may say 'whole child' but when you walk the halls and sit in on lessons, 'whole child' isn't just a phrase they use, it's a way of life through their commitment to the inquiry process, student-initiated action, and the IB profiles. Is it flawless? No, but what sets Patterson apart is its unwavering dedication to all students. My son's experience at Patterson has been nothing short of extraordinary. He doesn't just attend school; he eagerly anticipates each day's adventure. Even when he was sick, his enthusiasm for learning was still front and center. A testament to the school's nurturing learning environment. In an educational landscape often dominated by test scores and state assessments, Patterson takes a refreshingly different approach. Here, the emphasis is on empowering students to take ownership of their learning journey. Through the messy process of inquiry, students are encouraged to explore, question, and discover, with teachers serving as guides along the way. Rather than a passive experience in the classroom where teachers and students are simply ticking boxes, students at Patterson are encouraged to grapple with concepts in ways that are relevant and meaningful. This fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation for learning that extends far beyond the classroom walls. Our dinner table conversations always find themselves to be centered around the new learning that has happened and throughout the weekend, my son is always making connections to school learning.Patterson International isn't just a school; it's a community dedicated to nurturing curious minds, compassionate hearts, and engaged citizens. For any parent seeking an education that empowers their child, Patterson is undoubtedly the place to be.

All three of my kids will have attended Patterson when they are all finished with Elementary School. We have found the teachers and support staff to be great and very attentive to each child’s different learning styles. The teachers are very accessible and are proactive in reaching out if they notice any struggles with the children. I can’t recommend Patterson enough, and I am glad all three of my kids will have attended there.

My family has been at Patterson for 8 years with two of my children attending from kindergarten all the way through. They both had unique wonderful experiences. The teachers worked to meet my kids where they needed to be met. The art, music, and p.e. teachers all go above and beyond to create such diverse learning experiences. Another bonus was my children got to learn Spanish as part of the curriculum. The entire staff is amazing and it was a great experience.

I have a kindergarten student and a preschool student at this school. The Kindergartner LOVES his teacher and classmates and looks forward to coming to school each day. He mentioned challenges with peers at the beginning of the year, but those have all been resolved through the positive support of his teacher and the special education team (who were there to help some of the students who did not attend preschool to learn how to be learners). The IB approach to the curriculum is engaging, putting student voice and choice at the center of the learning. The new principal, Mrs. Joseph, works hard to be a friendly presence in the school, approaches problems with an open mind, and allows all families to maintain their dignity at all times. Although they are only a short cycle, the clubs run through the school are extremely engaging and my kindergartners brings them up frequently. Finally, I like the way this school and the IB program works well with what they have. With extremely limited funding and a diverse student population, they are able to make gains with students. In my opinion, you can go to a school with the best test scores and if often lacks diversity and has pretty privileged students. This school is title one AND helps all kids succeed.

The teachers at the school are great and one even taught me 30 years ago! I love that the school is able to keep many of the same teachers year after year. I got to know many of them with my older children and know who to look forward to for my younger ones. My older daughter that attended Patterson is off to college this year and my younger children are currently loving the school as well.

Poor teaching, no sense of security for the children, lunches provided are embarrassing, no warmth or sense of unity within the school. If this is what our kids have as school systems then their futures look really dark!

I loved this school before they started giving up on my kid and this year the teacher sending him home crying because of being told they won't make it if they continues being like this (ADHD). Teacher making complaint to family members at school functions instead of bringing it up to the child's parents. We have had no problems up until now but when a teacher completely disregards their IEP and treats a CHILD like a failure it makes me sick. I have talked to other parents that have children with special needs that are also sickened by this teacher. We were also lied to about children being tested.

Patterson has such a great sense of community. Kids and parents feel welcome! Over the past few years they have really made some wonderful strides; students are engaged and really interested in what they are learning. Plus, there are an amazing number of opportunities for kids to get involved. I would highly recommend this school!

Patterson is Phenomenal! My 6th grader has attended since KG. He has struggled with ADHD since 2nd grade and it is because of his extraordinary teachers that he has made great strides! The teachers at Pattersons care so much about the students. Love this school and evreything that it stands for!

This school has something wrong. I do not trust the staff nor like how the teachers use gorilla tactics in teaching the students. They embarrass kids to make them outsiders to other students. Do not take your kids to this school.

Patterson is great school with a wonderful primary years IB program. Test scores are improving and strides have been made to assist students at all levels. The two ongoing issues with this school is lack of consistent leadership and high class numbers in the upper grades. The principal has changed several times in the past few years which causes inconsistency in the priorities of the school and in the handling of parents / staff. And the two upper grades have a ridiculously high number of students in each class. The teachers are excellent, but even the best of teachers are going to struggle with that many kids and keeping up with the workload a large class size requires. I hope the district would support changes in those areas.

This school use to be wonderful. The Teachers are great. There is a big bully problems not just with kids but adults as well. I find it awful that parents would say stuff to other parents kids and think it is okay. I feel that kids are not protected from the bullying that goes on in this school. I feel it is going down hill and can't wIt for next year to hopefully find my kids a new school. Good Luck to everyone.

This school has gone down hill fast. My Daughter is in the 5th grade and has attended Patterson since kindergarten and my 21yr old son attended all 6 years as well. I know for a fact that in the 2nd grade they had more homework. They no longer do weekly spelling tests. I have seen little evidence that they are teaching anything this year. The drama overwhelms the teaches to the point of tears in parent teacher conferences. The principal has no skills for her job. Its really sad to see such a great school go down so fast.
