I have two sons that attend Palms and my experience has been very positive. I have found that the teachers are caring, yet strict when they need to be. Both of my boys have grown tremendously in the time they have been attending and I like the efforts the school makes to involve parents and families. They regularly host family theme nights and even a Parent University which I found very informative. I know this school has made a lot of strides in the past 6-7 years and I see them continue to improve.

My son attended Palms from Kindergarten through 6 grade. I can't tell you what an amazing experience I've had working with the teachers and principal at Palms. They worked with me to help him succeed as I worked with them. I found the teachers to be caring and dedicated which makes a real big difference in a young child's life. My daughter will is now there and will be going to the 2nd grade. I wouldn't have her at any other school.

My school is Palms Elementary in Lakewood CA. My daugher attended Palms last year. We moved here from Northern CA and so it was an adjustment for her. The entire staff at Palms made her feel welcomed and a part of the school from the first day. The teachers are very involved with each student and they communicate with the parents about your student. I was always aware of where my student was excelling and where we needed to do some work, to get her up to par. I appreciated the fact that they didnt let any area that needed improvement go to the end of the quarter and then your student is too far behind to catch up. Great school, great teachers

I found cirriculum in Mr. Neill's class challenging and intensive. Our student made great progress and was motivated to read beyond grade level. His class kept up with the times and uses of technology. It was amazing to me to see how he taught both 4th and 5th grade levels.

My son has been a student at Palms since Kindergarten. He is now in the 3rd grade and his sister is enrolling in the Fall for Pre-K. I can tell you Ms. Huh is a dream come true! Love her!! I've had nothing but wonderful experiences when interacting with her and the other staff memembers. I think very highly of Mrs. Ronay (2nd Grade Teacher). This lady is beyond a teacher. She had just the right touch that turned my son's life around at that school. Followed by Ms. Garcia! Another wonderful teacher. I can't participate as much as I would like to at the school because I have a very demanding job, however I keep in contact with regular meetings and phone calls to keep up with my son's progress and they are alway willing to give me an update promptly. Great school and I'm glad my son is a student there!

My youngest child has attended palms two years. She is high functioning autistic, highly intelligent but with boundary & social learning challenges. The Palms teachers, principal, speach therapist & councilor have been wonderful. The academics for lower grades at Palms are similar to other districts where my older children attended. Palms curriculum for these grades is top notch. It's up to parents to do their part with homework & reading at night. I found other districts unwilling to provide for minimum federally mandated assistance for special needs children. ABC school district on the other hand has some top schools but they also fully comply with federal requirements & staff go beyond what is required for these wonderful children. Let's support this staff and do our part as parents with more parental involvement. Those who do not get involved have no place to complain!
