We couldn’t have been happier with our experience at Leal. Seven incredible years Principal White, teachers, Administrators created such a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that truly focuses on learning and a happy healthy environment. The teachers are highly dedicated, supportive, and go out of their way to engage the students in meaningful learning.

As both my daughters started at Leal Elementary last year for the first time from a different country, the school has been so nurturing and welcoming! Amazing staff and my daughters adjusted to their new routines in no time. The girls love to go to school and their progress is amazing. Blessed to have my daughters go to Leal.

Staff named Cassandra answering phone is rude and snappy. I inquired a few ABC Unified elementary school and every school’s staffs were so nice and patient answering questions except this school. She just hates her job. You represent your school. Be nice to parents! I hope you all replace her.

One of the countries finest elementary school from all aspects. The teachers and administrators are emphatic, caring, dedicated professionals, starting with Pricipal White.Very proud our children had the opportunity to attend Leal.God bless America

I’ve definitely been made feel like this school does not have my child’s best interest as a priority . I have to heckle teachers for updates on how I can help my child thrive. Considering a school change.

If your child is brilliant and do not need any help from teachers then only you can enroll to this school. For students that’s needs help in learning will not get any attention or help from teachers.Mostly their is competition between which teacher can bring most donations but there is no good competition between students to achieve good score in learning.

The rudest, most unkind and unprofessional staff member who answers the school phone number. She was so quick to cut me off, expressed annoyance at my several questions and after I thanked her for her time, she just hung up without saying you're welcome or goodbye. If this is the kind of staff/leadership the school has, I definitely don't want me kids to go here. I would give this person at least some benefit of the doubt had this been the first time, but my friend also just shared that she had the same experience dealing with their front office. Leal Elementary, please LEAD BY EXAMPLE if you want your kids to grow up being respectful, kind, considerate adults. THE BULLYING rating below is for THE STAFF.

The menu is terrible, they serve airplane food every day, the bathrooms are dirty, this school does not work out for me, I was moved to other school districts, which is the best decision I ever made.

The expectations of both parents and staff are very high, which is a good thing in my opinion. It is not always easy to keep up. Because of those standards, I've seen HUGE educational gains in both of my kids. Both are now well above standards in both reading and math, and they both are showing interest in things like engineering, music, and sports! The parental involvement at this school is incomparable.

Love this school! Great principle, great teachers & great fundraising groups like PTA & LEAP.

This school, like most public schools, is test-obsessed. Most families want their children to score high enough to get into the elite Whitney HS. My son had some learning needs, and the school was not accommodating, despite meetings with the teacher and the principal. If your child struggles with learning, this school will only make him/her feel worse.

I feel that teachers should understand children better. Children have different level of understanding. There may be many undiagnossed aspe, ADHD and so on..... If they are understood better, they grow up to be better citizens and less of\ crime will be around less . They could live normal life.

I am a grandparent and love this school for my grand daughter. I have lived in Cerritos since 1971 and believe this is a very safe school.

Leal Elementary is a great school. Its been 8 years since I last attended this school and my siblings have all been here as well. We have had a memorable experience with the teachers and all of us have taken the skills and guidance we have learned here to the next step of our lives. The school is in a nice area and it is always trying to improve test scores, and anything else they can for the students. I would recommend sending a child to this school to anyone!

The school is wonderful. The principal and the staff is wonderful. The school really care about their students and what kind of student they are creating.
