Excellent! PTO does not run the school. Teachers and staff are very approachable!

Overall I would rate my experience at the school very poorly. It gives me anxiety to go to any kind of functions at the school. It is ran by the PTO moms that do not have a job, so any activities if you do have a job or nearly impossible to attend like meet the teacher at 9 am. A lot of things have changed with the new principal and not for the better. Every time you turn around on top of paying the high taxes you’re dishing out money to the school. So if you are not looking for a snobby school, I highly advise to look in another ZIP Code

We have been so absolutely pleased with Benignus! The teachers and administration truly care about the students and work enthusiastically with parents. The PTO is also fabulous and provides a great deal for the entire school!

Awesome principal for both students and teachers. Teachers care about their students and the families of this community. This is a great place to grow up and attend school.

My son began Kindergarten at Benignus after attending private PK. Teachers are very attentive and supportive and he has adjusted very well. He is learning by leaps and bounds and loves school! One problem I have is that some of the moms are snobby. I have witnessed one PTO mom in particular completely ignore someone she is acquainted with while engaging in conversation with another mom whom she knew that was with the acquaintance. She has done the same to me. Definitely very off-putting and junior high-ish for a mid to late 30s mom. Not exactly making me want to join PTO. Second, it seems if some moms know your child came from private school there is an us-and-them mentality. Who has time for that?? Finally, the principal does seem to micromanage a bit. For example, a minor bus incident was blown out of proportion despite the fact the parents of kids involved discussed and agreed it was no big deal. Yet principal insisted on making a bigger deal. It makes one wonder if she has enough to do. Why not let parents parent and resolve the issue? The school itself is awesome so if you are OK with the rest, I highly recommend it!

I love this school. It was one of the reasons I moved to the area. My son has had difficulty focusing on his work and they went above and beyond with trying to see what works for him to overcome it. I have had conferences periodically with staff. They had a mentor for him, as well as a daily progress folder to encourage him. He is in 4th grade now and he says nothing but good things about his school. Staff is always nice and welcoming.

I read another review that suggested that this school needed a lesson in customer service, and my immediate thought was that "its not just me." In my experience, other schools have been more responsive to my questions/requests for help. The test scores are really good, but it is not all about a test.

We relocated in the middle of the school year from an area where schools were lagging behind. I researched different schools based upon test scores and other criteria that Greatschools.com uses. We choose a home in the Benignus zone, we have not regretted it for one moment. The teachers were understanding and patient with our kids who were facing the transition of an increase of 11 hours per week in school, upping the degree of difficulty of the scholastics and being the new kids. The school has a wonderful staff that has welcomed us and made us feel a part of the school family. The PTO is truly involved in improving the school and its atmosphere for the children. We are glad that we found this school and community. We have seen such an improvement in their education and are very happy we chose Benignus.

My experience is that it is a good school and has a strong PTO and great teachers. I think the other staff is rude and has a poor attitude towards parents and students. They could use a 101 course in customer service and learning their place in a school environment. They work for us...not the other way around!
