My son started attending South Kent his sophomore year at barely 15 years old, traveling thousands of miles away from home to attend. This was not an easy decision to let my son leave home this young, but his success and happiness at South Kent has affirmed that decision. He hit the ground at South Kent running and hasn't looked back! He is a student athlete, excelling both academically and athletically, both of which will help him achieve his goals and dreams for college and his future. He is also meeting lifelong friends along the way!

Small boys school educating high level academic and athletic boys. Very supportive family environment with very involved faculty and administration. As a father of a third year student at South Kent school I am impressed and jealous at what my son has been able to experience at this school. Best decision we made for our son. I have nothing but praise for SKS

After first-hand experience with the top private day schools we selected SKS for our son's high school experience. We could never have dreamed of a better, more well-rounded experience. He has matured and is more grounded than we ever could have imagined. He has the closest most wonderful friends, adores his advisers and most of his teachers. It is a great family and a terrific environment for a student athlete who wants to mature and expand as a person. The facilities could be improved but, that is secondary to the rewards we have reaped. The Hero's Journey is key to the school's direction. There is equal weight given to athletics and academics which is critical to a successful high school.

If we weren't thrilled with South Kent School, we would never have sent our second son. South Kent is more than a school, it is a community. Our boys have flourished in this environment with small classes, outstanding faculty and academics. The boys are given the opportunity to think out of the box and are encouraged to challenge themselves. If you want athletics, they are outstanding, but if your son is not an athlete, they have many other activities to choose from.

It's too bad South Kent has lost its way as a school. When I attended for three years its strength was its small size and focus on the whole student. Now it's focused on jocks (they probably call them high-level student athletes) and Asian students who pay more than full-tuition and subsidize the recruited athletes. Their teams win, but the school can't compete on the basis of its facilities, college list, or academic standards. Unless there is a change in the current leadership, I don't see any hope for my alma mater. The school which prepared me well is in a slow, desperate death spiral.... sad.
