There is something about Kent that remains in people's minds. The academics are strong and are taken very seriously, the athletics program is top-notch among prep schools, and resources have gone into the arts including beautiful new spaces for music and art. With that said, Kent has a lot of issues below the surface. Administration has been in power for a very long time (Head 33 yrs, Dean of Students 30, Assistant Headmaster 33 yrs) and are out of touch. School has had a lingering hazing and drug problem that has only been addressed when the school might be sued. While academics are strong, they are not as strong as the school would like to think, Kent has a culture of hard work to it, and the majority of students work hard and go on to do well after Kent. Alums have great love of Kent as well. But there are a lot of disciplinary matters and problems that have been hidden for admissions reasons.

We are so happy that our daughter is attending Kent. Academics are rigorous, but help abounds in the form of workshops and availability of teachers after class. I especially like the traditional values encouraged at the school and mandatory chapel three times a week. Overall, a wonderful place!

As an alumni, I can give KENT no less than a full five-star rating to appropriately reflect the quality of my four years spent there and the foundation which those years provided for my future. I am deeply indebted to those that helped shaped my experiences at KENT, and will forever thank my parents, especially my mother, for the sacrifices she made to afford it. KENT is a wonderful school, tradition, and opportunity; blessed and lucky are those that call this fine institution their alma matter.

My son had an outstanding experience at Kent. The academics prepared him well to attend ivy, and he made a large circle of lifelong friends. Structured environment promotes success and focus on core values. I recommend the experience highly.

Kent School has been an outstanding experience for my son who attended as an athlete- scholar. Not only has he been supported from day one, he has developed relationships with students and teacher within one short year at Kent which would take years at other institutions. It is a beautiful campus and I am so proud of my son who has developed study skills and character far surpassing our expectations.
