My God, the Gunnery is preppie. How dare they pontificate on character when they embody the values of social stratification and inequality? If you a a member or aspiring member of the ruling class, then step right up.

My daughter has thrived at the Gunnery academically, athletically and socially because she has been challenged to push boundaries and explore new opportunities. The faculty have been incredibly responsive to our questions regarding her academic progress and the individual level of attention is amazing due to the small class sizes. The campus community environment has been so important to developing a sense of independence as a young adult and there has been freedom to explore many activities here. The college placement options have been excellent as we enter her final year at The Gunnery. This has been a wonderful experience for our entire family and are grateful for the experience afforded her.

My son is ADD, very bright. Also very willful. Admittedly, not the easiest kid. But we feel that he was written off early at the Gunnery, and not given a chance to adjust. There are some very mediocre teachers and advisors who shouldn't be teaching in any school. Completely uninspiring about their subjects. The Academic Dean gave us a little time at the start, but then we felt the school did not continue to work with or support our son on academic level, because he found one of his classes intolerably boring at the beginning. I met the teacher, who had no spark whatsoever. He was right. That got him off to a bad start and he was, I believe, put on the back burner. There were a few bright spots on the faculty, a very few. Overall, a mediocre offering at the usual staggering price.

Incredible faculty dedicated to developing and challenging students to achieve personal development goals tailored to each student. As parents we are thrilled with the small and personal community environment of this school. A true sense of community can be found here and we are grateful for the individual attention provided in a small classroom environment. The Gunnery is a fantastic school academically, socially and athletically.

My daughter is current student and loves it there. Great, caring staff, from coaches to teachers. They understand her and challenge her. Huge difference after attending one miserable year at public high school. I have absolutely no regrets sending her there, and neither does she.

My son is currently attending and I am already a huge fan of the school. It is decent academically, challenging but not to the point where it becomes a pressure cooker. The size, 300 or so, is perfect as it makes it easy to provide an intimate community. They have a terrific headmaster who is young enough to be able to understand the way the world is changing and bring this perspective to the school and the experience it offers. The teachers care about the students and the athletics are important, but not at the expense of academics or other pursuits. Most importantly, my son is happy there.

I am an international student in the Gunnery. The teachers are very helpful since I have problems like English writing and reading. The students there are very nice. The Gunnery provides a lot of opportunities for students for trying new stuffs. I got many attentions from my advisor because every group has 3-5 students. Overall experience in the Gunnery is great!!!

Not a good school. The kids run rampant, the teachers are careless, and the education is not up to par with the other schools in the area. Dorms are so-so, campus is not that great, the area is lovely but is in the middle of nowhere.

My daughter is an international student at The Gunnery. She was nicely welcome and settled down perfectly. She is going through an unforgettable experience in many ways. Academically speaking is great and they do an awesome job in sports. She would love to continue next year

The Gunnery is one of the best boarding schools in the region. It has great academics, athletics and art programs. The teachers care about your student and they do everything they can to help you succeed, accomplish your goals and eventually attend the right college for you. I am currently at The Gunnery so this is what is happening NOW. Not 5 or 10 years ago. I would highly, highly recommend this school.

I had a horrible experience at the Gunnery. Most teachers did not care about the students. Some horrible things about the school: you can't have a fridge or video game consoles or else you get school probation (which is 6 sunday detentions and 5 saturday detentions.) Dorms look nice but eventually start falling apart. Senior dorms are the best. In the middle of nowhere basically. Look up the school before you attend.
