I love this school! I attended here when I was in Kindergarten through fifth grades, and I loved every minute of it! My three younger brothers also went here after me, in which my second brother was in preschool when I was a fifth grader. They attended the three years after I left, and they had the same experience! Mrs. Boren, the principal, is awesome! I have autism, as well as her son, and she became a best friend to me! She will be the same to you if your child has autism. The teachers are all very nice, and I loved learning with them! I am so glad I attended this school, and I would recommend it for everyone!

An excellent Special education program, kindergarten, and preschool. We are so blessed to be part of this school. My 3 children have thrived. I know that they are loved and in a safe loving environment. They still celebrate old fashioned holidays and values. They have not conformed to not celebrating holidays. We still have a Halloween parade and fun parties. I love this school and most of the wonderful teachers.

Fantastic school, caring staff - all of my kids have gone there and there are few schools that make everyone feel welcome the way Letford does. Fantastic focus on students need amd individuality as well as academic achievement

This school has been nothing short of amazing for my kids. We came to Letford last year when we moved to Johnstown and hit the school jackpot! We came from a very poorly run district where my son was struggling. He has truly flourished at Letford! I really feel like he finally fits in at school, the teachers are caring and knowledgeable and it seems like everyone knows each other here. As a parent I finally feel like I am doing whats right for my children. My kids are challenged in class but still feel confidant and are eager to attend school each and every day. They seem to have a very close bond with their teachers and strive to succeed. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school, the teachers and the administration! Thank you so much for giving my children the gift of a school that really cares about them!!

My family is new to Letford this year. I feel that general information regarding the school or it's curriculum is not communicated well to new families. For example, Accelerated Reading is new to my kids and I had to request more than once that the program be explained to my children so they knew what was expected of them. On the up side.. the transition to a new school has been less challenging than expected. The staff has been friendly and helpful in getting my kids to connect with new friends. They buddied each of them up on the first day with another kiddo that could show them around and help them be more comfortable with the new surroundings. Very appreciative of the kindness shown!

My son went to this school for kindergarten and I was hugely disappointed. He entered a year ahead in reading and ended up on the same level at the end of the year. His teacher told me she didn't want to do stratified reading groups because she didn't want to offend the students who were not as successful. To add, no math was done the entire year. No adding objects, no combining objects, no number sentences because I was told it wasn't part of the state standards. Also, not one art project came home. I asked every day what they did in class. No painting, no pottery, no creativity expressed. It's no wonder this school is ranked in the bottom 10% in the state. Don't be fooled by their rating on here, they teach to the lowest common denominator and haven't yet learned to reach the average and advanced kiddos. I have a little experience to say all of this as I have my masters degree in teaching and have taught for 15 years.

My daughter goes to Letford and I am a teacher here. I have worked at 5 schools in my time and Letford is the best. Great loving principal and brillant and loving teachers. The kids are kind and no bullying is allowed or tolerated. I would recommend Letford to anyone.

I have found the staff and Principal to be loving, caring and very reponsive to my child's needs. Because of the leader, the school is doing very well.
