Our school system is small enough to ensure every student gets the maximum amount of attention from their teachers and counselors but large enough to offer ample opportunities!

As a parent of a Junior who also attended Lamoille Union Middle School, I feel that LUHS is offering my daughter a wonderful experience. We moved from a town with a huge HS (3000) students, and the smaller size of LUHS (600 students) allows for greater personal interaction with the teachers and staff. there have been a lot of changes to the HS in the last 3 years to improve curriculum, attendance, and general "feel" of the school. My daughter maintains an A average while participating in band programs and student programs, and has been invited to apply for the National Honor Society. While it's true that a good student can do well in even a bad school, it's also true that a good school (such as LUHS) can greatly influence each student's contribution and effort to their own education. LUHS has really improved.

As a student currently at Lamoille union middle and high school i would rather go to Rice Memorial school. At the same time i wouldnt because of a few teachers. they make sure that you understand everything they teach. But it is very hard to get specialized time since there are so many students coming and going in and out of classrooms during study hall. The sports are good. Mainly girls soccer and guys lacrosse. Activities that are fun are lock- ins where you just hang out there with friends for about 9/8 hours, you can also play games watch movies and have a lot of fun. Some rules that i think have no reason is the no cleats inside, during soccer practice one day i got a bloody nose and had to go inside , i forgot about my cleats and got told off by a teacher about it. The ground are nice and kept very well. Some things we have is our garden and a pizza oven outside. We hqve winter carnivals, medic tournaments, ikidarods ( a.k.a. iditarod). Curriculum is quite easy for me and its fun, i was n honors/ high honors all year. Lums has high school laguage class ( latin, spanish, french) and algrbra.
