Both my boys were born and raised in Stowe. We both work full time and would be considered a middle class family. One of my sons was more computer and mechanically oriented and the other more sports oriented. Although neither were straight A students, both were offered a first class education. Both have gone on to become contributing members of their communities and are gainfully employed. Neither were bullied and were always able to handle whatever situation came up. They have maintained life long relationships with those they went to school with. So our experience was great and am happy that they went through the Stowe School System. The education is great but the parents must also be a part of it.

We moved to Stowe and had our children join the Elementary school and at first we thought the school was excellent. The school is excellent; it is the children that go there that are not. There is Physical and Verbal bullying everyday and the teachers seem to turn a blind eye due to the teachers being scared of the bullying children parents or that the parents are on the school board. The school say s it does have an unusual approach to bullying but in the end the bullies carry on being bullies. The school is ok if you are the top jock of the school but anyone else is left behind or made to feel inadequate and if your face does not fit in the local people hound you out of town. I have seen many good families move on from Stowe because of the local children. If you have few million dollars then the school will welcome you but if you are an average family then find somewhere else to go to school.
