Hatfield Elementary offers a unique learning experience for students because they are so small. Students really get the attention they need and the individual instruction because the classes are only 12 students-ish. It feels more like a private school. Choiced-in students are welcomed and NEEDed in order for the school to stay open. I have one child who went k-6 and another still there. School is air conditioned, AMAZING school nurse, separate preschool playground, outdoor classroom, super fun Spooktacular event every year. Children are active and always seem engaged. Before school movement program, aftercare offered. Super active Library just a short walk in front of the school.

The teachers and staff are not supportive of the children. I was literally told by a teacher that they were going to take my child down a notch. Since beginning there no teacher was ever supportive of my child. When they made recommendations that I did not agree with as a caring parent they told me I was a brick wall. I was forced to protect my my child from the people who work at this school who DO NOT have his best interests at heart. I warn anyone to stay away from this school if you care about your children. If you are not the cookie cutter from Hatfield your child will be looked down on, not trusted, and arbitrarily punished.

We moved our children out of an ABYSMAL district and have had nothing but absolutely positive experiences here. Both of my children have improved academically and because they are expected to behave in a kind, respectful, manner, they rise to the occasion. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and its faculty and staff. Also- as a parent children attending this school, I receive state "report cards" with detailed information about both test scores and their standing within the state, and the information provided on this page is NOT accurate. Hatfield Public Schools (at least as of 2020) received a 77 out of 99 state accountability percentile which is based on MCAS results, which means they perform better than 76% of elementary and middle schools statewide. Do your homework.

There's a cultural difference and if your not from around here you will not be welcomed with open arms. Lot's of gossip in a child's environment and to me it's not appropriate.

Thoughtful and caring faculty and staff. Patti Benson (pre-k), Christa Anderson (k) and Roxanne Mariani-Prall (4) are the real standouts!

The teachers and primarily the administration at this school do not behave in a professional manner. Often times they forget that the children are not their equals, they talk to them as though they are adults, hold them unrealistic expectations and over react about typical child behavior. My childs IEP was completely ignored (which is against the law) and he was made to feel inferior to his peers on a daily basis on purpose by the staffing and administration.

My daughter (12) loves the staff and children in her school. Everyone is so nice and helpful all the time so much so that she actually loves school and hates it when she is sick and has to stay home.
