I entered Central with mixed feelings, having heard not the best things about the school, and most of my friends were attending Ooltewah instead. However, looking back, I have no regrets. I absolutely loved my experience at Central. It is its own community, but you definitely get back what you put in. Take the time to learn about the school, its history, alumni, and the amount of people that truly love it. Love Purple, Live Gold.

I really can't believe a school could actually be this bad, they don't care, the teachers told me that I was faking my desease even though i had multiple doctors tell them what was wrong, then they acused me of lying about trying to get work so that i wouldnt fall behind. i really wish i could say something good about this school but the only thing i can say is "well the football team is good"

Our family chose Central over Ooltewah and have been more than pleased with the decision! The principal is outstanding. My child is having a wonderful high school experience at Central. No drama... just a good education and fun playing sports. What high school should be.

Central High School has improved a lot! School is what you make it while you are there. I'm involved in a lot of school activities, and the teachers have always been supportive of me.

This is such a negative school. My daughter struggles in school and the teachers don't notice or care. I know they have too many students but a bit of support would go a long way. Because my daughter struggles teachers say mean & negative things to her. She is harassed by many of her teachers who call her out and try to embarrass her in front of a whole classroom. Is this a teaching strategy or what? Her math teacher fails 97% of her class and nobody ever notices or does anything about it. Why? This teacher brags about her tenure to the students and tells them to go ahead and tell their parents because she has tenure and she isn't worried about it. When people come in to observe the classroom she "pretends" to be an involved teacher but stops as soon as the observer leaves. The students do notice these things so why doesn't anyone else? Some Personnel will work harder at trying to get out of doing something than in to trying to help. I will begin looking into other school options for my daughter very soon. This is the worst school I've ever seen. If I need to move to be in another zone that's what I will do.

I feel this school needs to be more positive and supportive of students needs. They have no positive incentives, nothing for students to be excited about or look forward to. Maybe a jeans day on Fridays for good behavior, attendance etc. would help, anything positive would help! Some teachers are very unprofessional and portray the atmosphere of a high drama reality show. Inappropriate/negative remarks/comments made to students.I have seen some teachers who rise above the drama and give all they have to help a child succeed, they have to be mentioned here because they are the unspoken heroes. It is even more important in this type of environment. Overall this school needs some work on Positivity, Professionalism, Ethics, and Student Support (for all students, not just a selected few). Some teachers also need to be held accountable for their negative actions and uncaring attitudes. If they do not want to help students then why are they teaching. Is it only for a paycheck? Who is paying attention, anyone?

Went there, and LOVED it! GO pounders! YES, there were "bad eggs" in the school but they were disciplined and the teachers are very dedicated
