We saw issues with teachers not able to teach the classes they are in. We ended up getting a tutor for one class who coincidentally graduated from Boyd. We did not have any administrators or teachers show up to sports. We also saw staff lie about students and when confronted, play the victim game. I believe in absolute truth as a Christian but this school believes in whatever makes itself look good. We didn’t see any of this at first but after a few years it was very clear.

Nepotism runs strong in this school. As long as you fit into their ideal box, you’ll do fine. Favoritism is shown to rich families that can support school fundraising events and students with a strong athletic background. Don’t have either qualification? May not be the best fit.

This School shoes you what it’s like to truly be mistreated in the classroom and outside of it. There is no real relationships between students and the teachers. There are no exceptions for anything. One of the students once had to go to a funeral for their grandmother, and a teacher gave him busy work due that same day, because he was not in the class. This school is the exact opposite of a Christian environment. It is an empire ruled by leaders that are greedy, and teachers that aren’t even qualified for their jobs. Students can complain about a teacher, and rightfully so, and there be a punishment to the student.

Please do not waste your hard earned money on this school. If your child doesn't fit into their "box" they will be bullied until you leave.

This school is set apart. Sure there will always be haters...there just gonna hate and that's a heart issue NOT a Silverdale issue. This school is beyond a blessing. The academics are stellar, the sports team are incredible and their hearts toward their students and their community is remarkable.

This is by far the best school in the Chattanooga area. We love SBA's concern for Christ first as well as a high priority for education. Our family has been involved with the school since day one and are glad to continue to support this school.

While I did have several good experiences during my 5 years at this school, the lack of quality academics, blatant favoritism and nepotism, and the student body caused me to count down the days until I graduated. Overall, my experience wasn't a great one.

Silverdale is a wonderful school. The staff and faculty, from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade, have a genuine concern to see the students thrive. They teach to the whole child - an excellent curriculum; critical thinking skills; the Word of God.We have had a great experience at Silverdale, and are thankful to be here.

I currently have a 12th grade son who attends Silverdale and my daughter is a 2015 graduate of Silverdale. Silverdale has helped my children become well-prepared kids with a strong Biblical worldview. The academics at Silverdale are rigorous with opportunities to take honors courses, AP courses, and dual enrollment courses through Lee University. My daughter truly felt prepared - both academically and spiritually - to face her college years. There is also a focus on community service which I love. It has helped my children think outside of themselves and encouraged them to help others in the community. The leadership at Silverdale is excellent. They genuinely care about the students and are able to mentor them even after graduation. Our family is sincerely thankful for Silverdale and the positive role they have played in the lives' of our children.

This school is excellent on all fronts. The academics are outstanding, the faculty and staff genuinely love the students, and the family atmosphere is engaging. My children wake up excited to go to school everyday: high praise indeed!

Our children went to this school. This school is by no means a Christian environment and to be quite honest we have experienced a more Christian atmosphere in the public school system by leaps and bounds than we ever experienced at this horrible place. We were also surprised that when our children entered public school that they were way behind in English, History, Science and to an extent Math. We feel cheated and it should be false advertising for this school to advertise a Christian environment with rigorous academics. That statement is laughable at best. It's no different than these con artists running the degree mill colleges now. This is nothing more than a big business. The people that run this school are one of the biggest detriments to the church in this country. The are fake ingenious people that makes others despise the church and other Christians.

We moved to Chattanooga in the middle of my sons 8th grade year. He had options to attend several schools and we chose SBA. My husband (his dad) passed a few years before we moved and this affected my sons entire demeanor. He was sad, dark and bitter. Within a couple of months he had done a 180 degree change. Between the teachers, school leaders, and students the school had lifted him out of his doldrums and he became a happy, healthy, focused young man. He graduated from Silverdale with an excellent education, terrific study habits, strong moral compass and filled with feelings of success and accomplishment. He was involved in academics as well as sports and has continued his academic excellence into college. He is now a junior at UTK with a 3.87 GPA and an eye towards law school. I could write a book about the incredible experiences my son had at school there and the wonderful relationships he still has maintained since graduating. Incredible school!

It's a wonderful, loving place for my kids. I had one graduate and another in 10th grade. We've been there for 8 years. I am thankful for the teachers and the headmaster is amazing and has given her life for SBA. Your kids get out of education what you put into it. Any negative comments tell you more about the person behind then complaining.

I had a great experience as a student in my time there. Teachers and coaches always took time to invest and build a relationship with you. I am still in contact with many of them to this day. I can truly say that I care more for the well being of Silverdale than of the private Christian college I attended. Silverdale really had/has a family atmosphere and I'm proud to be an alum.

They are Money hungry and hide behind the Christian attitude. I have never seen the like of hypocritical people in a Christian school. My son has learned more and offered more classes in public school in 2 years over the 7 years at Silverdale. He was unhappy and the middle and high school principals will not discipline other kids that need it especially if the child you complain on parents are well to do. Headmaster never wants to be bothered you would think she was the president. They don't treat all staff the same either, the ladies in the kitchen are told what to serve then if anyone complains they blame it on the kitchen staff. This come from a teacher at SBA. Save your money cause tuition is going up again with the new lunch catering service.

I am so thankful that our family found Silverdale Baptist Academy. Two of my children attend the school are are thriving. They both started during 6th grade and were welcomed with open arms by both the students and the faculty. Silverdale Baptist Academy focuses on preparing students academically and spiritually. My daughter will graduate in May with 17 college credits thanks to the many dual enrollment classes that are offered. AP and Honors classes are available too. The teachers and the staff truly care about the students as they mentor them on a daily basis. The athletic program is growing and celebrating many successes along the way. My children tell me they love their school and are thankful for their SBA experience.

Every time I m near that school I have to play Crazy Train in honor of surviving and tolerating that place. I think I should write to A&E and recommend them to send misbehaved kids to Silverdale for a few days instead of jail; and THEN threaten that they ll be enrolled if they don t act better. As someone else said, obviously the education is Christian biased and pretty useless for college. I swear that 50% of the teachers aren t even qualified in their subject. Seems like the school just picked the most crazy evangelical applicant, threw them the book, and told them to make sure the students memorize some verses. And this is school is a college prep school?! HAHAHAHA. I remember very clearly the college prep classes we had and it was useless. The teacher only met us a couple of times, once to to ask what we wanted to study and the second was taking us a computer lab and told us well, starting googling for scholarships. I think she recommended the CocaCola one but that was it. My mom and I did it all by ourselves. SBA just does that much so they can say they re college-prep. It s all smoke and mirrors.

Show me the W2 list and I will show you who is really welcomed with open arms. This is a multimillion dollar tax free business being run under the cloak of religion. Be careful of the wolf in sheep's clothing! I have never witnessed nor felt Christ in this place!

We could not be more pleased with this outstanding school. SBA cares about the child and they understand the importance of a quality education. We have been particularly impressed with the attention given to the spiritual life of our child. Teachers and administrators truly care for children at SBA. Problems are dealt with in a forthright manner and this brings clarity to all situations. Academics are important at this school and they are honored. We could not be more pleased.
