So, I'm a new student in this school and I've been here for more than a month. Yet there still a lot I can say about this school. First things first, I moved here from Iowa, and back there It was a daily basis where students were to get an F it would be surprising. While here it's not, it's so easy to get an F, I was an A straight student in Iowa and now my grades are a complete opposite of what I used to be. This is probably because of how we prepare for tests; they don't prepare you for tests! In Iowa you would do study guides which is similar to the actual test but different questions. Then we would see if we got the questions right and if we didn't, we would study them. In this school they're only dependent on daily lessons and that's about it. Their hygiene in this school is also not good, sure its Tennessee and there's more nature than where I was from, but that still doesn't excuse for the hygiene. To start off, this school's bathroom is absolutely horrendous, what I mean by this is that the toilet seats are literally yellow. No joke it's disgusting. Like if it's been a long time since you changed those toilet seats then change them! This school also have bugs in every classroom, school is a place to learn not to find pests. Another thing is that the students are very out of control in every class. Most teachers will ignore the actions students do and ignore their behavior. This school is so out of control that I feel bad for teachers for having to deal with students that aren't behaving for the whole entire class and then they don't have enough time to teach their daily lessons. The school has to do something about these students and everything basically. Overall, the school's lunch is fine, teachers are okay, and the students are very welcoming.

I went to brown last year the school rules is bad. The rules when u was there were no type of jackets with hoods on them, later on in the year no phones in hallways because recorded fights. No backpacks in the bathrooms because vapes etc. Backpacks reasonable, phones were out of hand. Had certain tables to sit at in lunch, school was dirty, everything about the school bad I wouldn't even bring the school up around people. Nothing is good about the school except a couple of staff members, ( councel, teachers, etc. ) the shool rules now, after i left are no phones in the hallways, even worse no phones at all the phones stay in the lockers. No hoodies or things with hoods. No bathroom what so ever. Not in class, passing period, nothing. They get a 1 minute passing period, i already know the staff is horrible. They should from old experience be strict on everything. Brown middle school is the worst school in Chattanooga maybe even Tennessee.

I would give 2/5 stars, I don’t think this is a good and safe environment. I’ve literally seen tons of fights here, and seventh grade was HORRIBLE. I’m still at this school, but there is definitely something amiss. The atmosphere doesn’t feel right, that’s what more than one person described it as. I think your better off finding some other place. People bully and disrespect. Although there are some good ones, not everyone’s like that. They make you feel like complete idiots for making a bad test score. Oh and don’t even get me started on the strictness level! My grade is dismissed last every single day, and they treat us like kindergarteners sometimes. We have to freaking walk in a straight line everywhere we go! We don’t even choose where we sit at lunch, the food is bland. I could say sooooo much more, but I’ll leave it here.

The teachers and administrator's are great for the most part. The are a little too strict but they try to reward the children for good behavior and academics. The resource officer is a concern. He's the only serious complaint that I have.
